About
Do you recognize kanji when you read them, but freeze when you try to write them by hand? 書くトレ (Kaku-Tore) is built for exactly that: recovering the ability to handwrite kanji you already know.
This is not a dictionary and not an app for learning brand-new kanji. It assumes you already recognize the kanji — the goal is to rebuild the muscle memory for writing it correctly, at a readable level.
HOW IT WORKS
• Pool — Browse kanji and add the ones you want to work on to your practice set.
• Practice — Trace and recall stroke order and shape, at your own pace, with readings and example sentences on hand.
• Test — Prove you've got it back. Write the kanji from its reading alone, with no visual hint. Score 90% or higher to pass.
• Library — Kanji you've mastered move here and stay for a month. Re-test before they expire to keep them fresh, or let them lapse back into practice if you fall behind.
This creates a simple spaced-repetition cycle focused on long-term retention — not on perfect calligraphy. A recognizable, readable kanji is the goal.
WHY 書くトレ
• Handwriting recognition runs entirely on your device — no internet connection needed to practice.
• All your progress stays on your device.
• No account, no sign-up, no ads getting in the way of practice.
• Works for anyone who used to write kanji fluently and wants that skill back — students, heritage speakers, long-time learners returning after a break.
書くトレ won't teach you new kanji from scratch. It will help you remember how to write the ones you're starting to forget.
