Kalmar SmartTruck App Pilot

SmartTrucks App is a process automation solution for managing Over-the-Road trucks (OTR) in yard operations, sometimes referred to as street trucks or drayman. SmartTrucks App provides real-time visibility of street trucks in the gate and yard areas of the terminal. The app uses a smartphone to provide two way communication between the external truck drivers and the terminal. The app connects via Kalmar Cloud to the existing SmartMap, SmartTruck, SmartLift and SmartScreen applications. By integrating with other SmartPort solutions, like SmartLift, SmartTrucks App allows tracking container transitions to/from stacks and wheeled positions. Additionally, other SmartPort solution features such as job promotion and automated container handoff for grounded container locations or wheeled locations can be enabled. The location of the OTR received from the SmartTrucks App can be used to track the OTR in the yard.
