About

Point your camera at any plant, animal, bird, bug, or fungus and Katch tells you exactly what it is in seconds. Then it does something no other ID app does: it shows you how that species connects to everything else alive around you. There has never been an app quite like Katch. Anything can name a species. Katch captures what they DO together, who eats who, who pollinates what, who lives on whom, and turns your finds into a living web only you have witnessed. IDENTIFY ANYTHING, INSTANTLY Snap a photo and get an answer in seconds, with a confidence score and the science to back it up. Plants, animals, birds, insects, fungi. If it is alive, Katch will have a go. You can even identify birds, frogs, and insects by their sound. SEE HOW LIFE CONNECTS Snap what you see, then snap what it interacts with, and Katch records the connection: a bee on a flower, a bird taking a berry, a spider and its prey. Each one becomes an edge in your food web. You are not just collecting creatures. You are mapping the living relationships around you. BUILD A LIVING FOOD WEB Every creature you catch takes its place in a food web that grows as you explore. See the trophic levels, the predators and pollinators, and the gaps still waiting to be witnessed, verified by the community. CHASE RARE FINDS AND RARE MOMENTS Every catch is scored across seven rarity tiers. And the rarest thing of all is not a species, it is catching two of them in the act of interacting. EXPLORE A LIVING WORLD MAP See what other naturalists are finding and connecting near you and around the world. JOIN A COMMUNITY OF NATURALISTS Share your best finds, help verify the interactions others log, and build the real map of how life fits together. FREE AND UNLIMITED Identifying is free with no daily limit. Collect, connect, and grow your web every day. Katch Pro goes deeper: the full depth of your food web and one-scan multi-species scenes, with no ads, ever. Try it free for 14 days. Start your web today. Katch it. What's New in Katch

1.5.1

August 4, 2026

The big one: species identification is now FREE. The daily ID limit is gone, so you can identify plants, animals and fungi as much as you like, every day. Also in this update, and recent releases in case you missed them: - Smarter identifications: multiple AIs now cross check every photo before you get an answer, plus a sanity check against global records of where each species actually lives. - BioDive: point your camera at a whole scene (a rockpool, a meadow, a tree) and capture every species in it at once. Free scans included every day. - Katch Pro has a new focus: the food web. Every catch you make connects to what it eats, what eats it, and what it lives alongside. Pro unlocks the full depth of the web your collection builds. - New: try Katch Pro free for 14 days on the annual plan and watch your web grow. - Fixed a crash when closing the camera, a bug that could silently stop audio identification until an app restart, and a rare crash in the collection view. - Faster community verification, so your catches get confirmed sooner.
