Katecheo

Katecheo turns the phone you keep picking up into the thing that makes you study. Choose how many minutes of phone use you get. When they run out, Katecheo covers your other apps and asks one question. Answer it and the apps come back. Miss it and you get another. LOCKOUTS • Set the interval, from 15 minutes of phone use upward. • Choose the apps that always stay open, such as Maps, Messages and music. • Phone and FaceTime are never covered. • Set how many chances each lockout gives you. STUDY SESSIONS • Schedule study sessions on the days and times you choose, with an alarm that rings even in Silent mode. • Start a Pomodoro session on the spot with work and rest blocks. • Turn on quiet time to cover distracting apps for the length of a session. • Follow the countdown on the Lock Screen. BUILT-IN DECKS • New Testament Greek vocabulary: 646 words in 43 units, typed answers. • The Westminster Shorter Catechism: all 107 questions, graded on how much of the answer you recall. • 500 key Bible passages in the ESV: read the verse and pick its reference. STUDY MODE • Study any range of a deck whenever you like, in order or shuffled. • Drill the cards you miss most. YOUR RECORD • A weekly report of sessions kept, lockouts cleared and cards reviewed. • Share the report as plain text. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No account, no server, no analytics, no ads. • Everything stays on your iPhone. Katecheo is the Greek κατηχέω, to teach by word of mouth, the root of "catechize."
