About
KC Vision shows people what keratoconus does to sight.
If you have KC, you know the frustrating part: nobody can see what you see. Glasses "should" work, the eye chart "looks fine", and family, friends, teachers and colleagues quietly wonder what the fuss is about. KC Vision puts your vision on your phone screen — so you can hand it to someone and say "this. This is what I mean."
A REAL OPTICAL MODEL
The simulation isn't a stock blur filter. It is driven by the same kind of wavefront description an eye clinic uses — coma, astigmatism, trefoil, higher-order aberrations over a pupil — turned into a genuine point-spread function. Ghost copies, comet smears, halos and washed-out contrast appear for the same optical reasons they appear in a keratoconic eye. Open the pupil for night and the same eye genuinely gets worse, exactly as it does in life.
MAKE IT YOUR EYE
• Set each eye's severity separately — KC is almost always uneven.
• Keep the letters sharp while the smear stays: many people with KC read a letter fine and see the ghost hanging off it. There's a slider for exactly that.
• Place ghost images where yours sit — above, below, left, right, any mix — and how many.
• Set the direction of your astigmatism lines and coma smear on a clock face.
• Turn contrast and colour washout up or down.
• Or type in the numbers from your topography report (Kmax, BAD-D, pachymetry, coma RMS) and scrub through your scan history.
• Take the 60-second matching test to describe an eye without any report.
• Save each eye by name and bring it back exactly.
SHOW SOMEONE
• Hold to compare with normal vision — the moment that lands.
• Share a side-by-side image of any scene, your own photo, or the live camera.
• Hand the phone over: a full-screen view through your eye, with a reading challenge.
• See what a scleral or rigid lens would do — and why glasses alone can't fix KC.
SCENES THAT MATTER
Eye chart, night driving, reading, Amsler grid, your own photos, and the live camera.
