After trying nearly every comic reader app available for iPadOS, I have to say that this one is amazing! The only reason I found it at all was because I asked Grok for recommendations. I must be in a small niche of users who are running a Kavita server for my comic collection (not Manga) and want to use it on an original iPad Pro that is stuck on iPadOS 16, so I am shocked that I have only encountered one bug (which I believe I have found a way to avoid). Setting this up to connect to my Kavita server using my OPDS API worked the very first time - imagine my elation! A far cry from my experience with every other app. Chunky works ok, but KedaReader is more beautiful and the ASMR/immersion/etc. extras make it OBVIOUS that other developers seriously lazy. Seriously, you have made an amazing app and I just wanted to make sure you get the recognition you deserve for it because we all too often hear more complaints than compliments in this space. Now… if you were able to somehow add the feature that the “Smart Comic Reader” app has which automatically detect panels, zooms in, & advances as you read, I would say “Game over, man”! 😎
[FYI, the bug I mentioned occurs when I open-pinch to zoom in on a page, and then tap & hold, the drag to pan around. I can’t predict it but sometimes the page rotates 90° clockwise, divides in half into two pages, and stays that way. It doesn’t affect the rest of the comic. But every time I go back to that page it is split in half and behaves as if it were two pages, each rotated 90° clockwise. No amount of tinkering yet has been able to revert this - it seems to stay saved with the comic every time I open it.]

Une app fiable rapide et bien pensée
Top pour les bds franco belges et les pdf. Je l’uyilise avec server komga auto hoste. Une semaine gratuite pour tester en intensif puis j’ai fait l’achat a vie de 8 eur. J’ai teste Panels en parallele, bien decu car 10 fois moins d’option de lecture et moins rapide a ouvrir les fichiers.

Please add reading mode, which manages the display light in such a way that there is no eye strain and original comics look like paper pages, specially for iPad

Ideal reader for NAS collection
After trying a few other apps, I discovered KedaReader for streaming my cbr collection from a NAS home server. KedaReader offered the most features for a reasonable one-time price. I used the free trial version of the program for a few days, and then opted to buy the full version. The app is continually being improved and the author appears to be an active contributor in the GitHub community.
I had a minor hiccup yesterday when I was reading a file and locked the orientation in my iPad control panel. One page got stuck with the wrong orientation and nothing I tried could get it to realign with the other pages. I looked for a manual control in the app to rotate the page to correct the orientation but couldn’t find anything. If it’s there I missed it. If not, it would be a useful feature to have.
I deleted the file from the NAS, confirmed it no longer appeared in KedaReader and re uploaded the file back to the NAS. The error still appeared. I decided that either the app or the NAS was holding a copy of the bad file in a cache storage. I checked within KedaReader and it did not have anything saved in cache, so perhaps my SSD cache in the NAS was serving up the problem file. I renamed the file on my computer and re uploaded it into the NAS. This correctly presented all pages with correct orientation. The problem did not reoccur even after renaming back to original.
All-in-all this program is a keeper. It is polished and even after I totally rearranged files and folders and sub folders on my NAS, it required no adjustments to reflect the changes I made. That’s good thoughtful programming.
