Useless

Just saw that a book I want is showing as available so paid £1.10 to hold it and then said I was 2nd in the queue so it isn’t available. I’ve cancelled the hold but it doesn’t refund the fee. This happens all the time!

I love this app but…….

This is a great app and I use it all the time and when the Reading Tracker was included I liked it even more until it failed. Sometimes it takes forever to load the loans and other times It fails to load them at all. Please either remove it or make it work properly. I’ll use the app with or without it - preferably with it.

Was good before update

Helpful app before update. Now it won’t open

If I can open the app I think it would be a good one

Each of time I try to use it, it reminds:

Unable to connect to server.

Please make sure you have a network connection and then try again.

I’d like to try this app as I wish to see if there is any way to add my library card on the iPhone wallet.

A very good app that could be even better

At first, I didn’t realise just how useful this app actually is. Note I don’t need to Wade through the website to renew book loans or check opening hours. It would be even better, though, if it said how many times I’ve renewed each book. It would also be polite to change my district council’s name from Shepway, as it’s been a few years now…

Not working correctly since update.

Was always a great app before! Since recent 2020 change and update I can no longer reserve books - I can search for them and view a list of availability and locations but there is nothing to click to reserve a copy. Please fix to make it good again 🙂

A great App that’s very slooooooww

It really is easy to use and hugely better than having to schlep to the library to renew or find what you want to borrow but OMG you need to put an afternoon aside to renew if you have, like me, many books on loan. It would have had five stars otherwise.

Missing multiuser

Great app but needs multi user support. Would like to setup mine and my kids cards on our iPad together

Great app

Accidentally found this app and it is so much more convenient than going to the website. Well thought out and works well. I can search for books or renew and is very simple to use.

Missing a crucial feature!

I use the app a lot more than the website to check my due dates on loans and renew them as it is far more convenient that booting up my PC. As a primary school teacher I often have 20-30 books out on loan at any one time for my book corner. Usually this will be for 6-8 weeks so there inevitably comes a time when I have to renew them all. Usually I will remember when I'm out and about and I like to do it there and then to avoid forgetting and then paying fines. Unfortunately you have to renew each book one by one. This is most irritating as the page refreshes between each renewal, almost as if it is reloading all the data for that page again, making the process take even longer than is necessary. There is no 'renew all' button or indeed the option to select multiple books and then renew those selected. I was surprised by this because I thought it was a rather obvious feature to have designed into the app from the outset. I'm no expert but surely it would be better if it downloaded your loan info, allowed you to make as many changes as you like locally on your handset then when you've finished it checked with the database again and reported back as successful or flagged up any issues? Hopefully someone will this kind of functionality soon. Apart from this it's a useful tool.

Rubbish

Doesn't do anything. Search function can't find anything. Login doesn't work, even though my credentials are correct. Useless.

Great App

Great little app - very helpful if you use the library allot

Very poor - won't connect to server

Downloaded to both iphone and ipad but neither will connect to their Solus server (yes I do have a wi-fi connection)
Have deleted both - very disappointed

Great App!

Love this app! Great for renewing books, reserving items and checking for events! Would definitely recommend downloading...

An app so poor I laughed aloud...

1. The icons don't fit on the page when you hold the ipad portrait.
2. The camera did not recognise my bar code on the library card.
3. You have to renew the books one at a time.
4. It was unable to renew my books.

A step in the right direction

Useful to have this as an app because I would agree with previous reviewer that the KCC website is painful.

Looking forward to improvements such as being able to search for local events by area. Also I just tried to renew a book but had to go to the main website to find out why it could not be renewed which was annoying.

However, a great technological step forward. Well done Kent Libraries.

Such a useful app!

Definitely still room for improvement but very handy and saves you having to go
In/go online to renew or reserve etc

Dreadful

This must be the worst app I have ever come across. I couldn't log on using the scanner. I wanted to get settings to send me a reminder email when books are due but was given no options. Basically, nothing seems to work as I would expect it to. Not worth having.

Could be better

Have tried to use the app to renew some books. Managed to log in and clicked to renew one of the books it looked like it was doing something but now states incorrectly that I have no loans!

The website is painful to navigate but at least it works!!

Room for Improvement

Whilst this app is OK for reserving books, renewing them, and checking due dates, it could be so much more. The search feature is mediocre to say the least, barcode scanning rarely if ever works, and it would be great to have notifications when books are near their due date.

It is worth downloading, but the developers could do so much more.
