Same old app doesn’t work
The supposed new and updated app link in the email sends you to the App Store for the same old app that doesn’t work. Opening the app arrives at a screen that will sit for long period of time saying Lo@ding stories ….. which never load. When you go to the tab to “login” after loading user name and password a message appears that says this publishers certificate has expired and the app is attempting to route you to some unknown web address

I enjoy the newspaper however I wish it was free for those of us out of state of fl.

This is a great app for reading the free papers in Key West, the local headlines are just a bonus.
Doesn't seem to work at all
App just opens to a black screen. Tried deleting and reinstalling - no joy. Used to work fine, even if the content was pretty limited.

This app is useless. You get the headline & the first few sentences of the story, followed by a link to their webpage, where you can buy the rest of the story. Crap app!

Worst app I've seen yet. I believe a high school student would not pass his class if he were required to make an app. It has 3 paragraphs of different articles. All in black and white and the links may or may not lead you to the full article.
Pathetic App
This is the worst app I have EVER used. It's embarrassing The Key West Citizen would even have it. A First Grader can design a more useful app. Anyone who says this app is useful probably works for the newspaper. Giving this app a one star rating is too generous but the review requires at least a star to submit. Absolutely PATHETIC!
They should spend a few dollars and make an app that their online subscribers can use and easily log into.

App Missing Lots of Information
Can we not have an app that has more news? How about weather, sports, business or other island ideas to enjoy. Very sad and not worth downloading to read. :--(

This is not worth the time to download. It shows you 3 stories you need to pay for on their web site.
Don't like it
Come on, as a native conch I expect better from The Citizen. There is truly some amazing web developer talent in the Keys and Key West and I'm surprised that The Citizen hasn't taken advantage of it! Why can't we have an app to subscribe to the paper on our iPad, rather than the PDF version online? This app provides a headline or two in a very unpolished and unrefined app.

It's really basic. It only gives you the top 3 stories of the day, assumably from the current edition (it's published daily). I can't confirm this as I just downloaded the app a couple of minutes ago...
I do have to disagree with an earlier review about not being able to see all of the first article. You can. And here's where I agree the app is also really lacking. The first article is limited to subscribers. It's the same if you look read the paper online without a subscription. So, to see the first article in its entirety, you have to log in, which requires a current electronic subscription. They are reasonably priced though - I just bought one for 3 months at $30. So to see all of the first article, go to that article and scroll to the very bottom of the article. There in small print you'll find text inviting you to subscribe and to LOGIN. Once you do login, you'll see the article in it's entirety.
But, here's where the app is also very lacking. First the login is hard to find. Like I said, it's in small print at the end of the first article. Second, looking at the edition is MUCH better if you go to the website and download it or view it online. Then you get the whole paper, not just the top three articles, and in color. It's scrollable, searchable, and nothing is left out. It's essentially a PDF of the entire edition.
If the app matched what you can get at the website, I would give 5 stars. But it doesn't. This app is very basic and lacking in many ways. Sorry guys. I love to hear the news about my favorite place on the globe too, but this app will only give you the bare minimum news.

Really Pretty Lousy
As someone who used to live and love in Key West, I find this app embarrassing at the very least. Three stories of the day? No pictures? No archives? And some of the stories that you click on are subscriber only links! Having an app just so you can say you have one is lame. Stop being so lazy, Citizen. Have some pride and fix this app. I've had it now for well over 6 months now without even ONE update. Lazy!

This is a great app if you want to have the news at your fingertips. Very informative and useful to keep up with what's happening.

Basic
Very basic. You cannot search data bases to find other articles from the previous days, weeks, or months.
