Was great Not as Good Now
It was really good when first came out, it was fast very few drop outs and worked really well with well prepared updates that kept it running nice and no ads
I understand why there are ads now, which is to keep it going
But the ads are too frequent and hard to close, extremely persistent, they must think we’re dumb, but it just pisses us off, as I will never purchase any ad that’s hard to close and persistent and too frequent, mainly games ads, which are a pest!
Current kik, it almost seems to stuff these ads down your throat as if to make you join the subscription version on kik as the proudly advertise it as ad free, so that makes me not want to take that on either
I would not want to pay money for, frequent crashes, slow running, updates that are not well tested before release, as it crashes it or you can’t recieve or send messages
As an admin of groups my admin functions often don’t work, so I have to sit there when an idiot joins a group and wreaks havoc, and I can’t boot them, causing other member to leave
Now sensible ads are fine in moderation and if I’m not interested in the product I should be able to remove it with one click, and not see it again for some time
I will choose what I want to purchase and not have it rammed down my throat
Now kik needs to have it running faster like the original kik, and fix all the errors and crashes and make it like the original kik that worked extremely well
So many of my friends have left it because it’s not what it used to be

Nothing but bots
Kik was useful before, but now it’s overrun by spam bots
Gotten worse.
I have used this app on and off over the years but now it has become really bad. I feel every update makes it worse. There are too many bots users and not enough real people. So many scams asking for money and when you say no they get abusive. I have block so many profiles it’s unbelievable. I feel the latest update stops you rejoining group after you decide to take a break from them. Once you rejoin, you are the only person in group which is unfair. There are so many groups that shouldn’t be there, to many to name. I could say more but this would be too long. It needs a complete overhaul. Starting with the removal of the dodgy groups and users. Maybe they could find away to make it easier to find local users instead of ones in other countries. Add a better search option that only lets you look for people near you. I understand that you want it so we can all connect but what if we want to meet up and can’t. I like to also meet in person and not just online. Please fix this app or people will leave altogether.

Can’t even log in anymore. Audacity to ask for a subscription when the app doesn’t even work properly. Maybe make sure it’s functioning before asking people for money. Get real.

Normally I don’t have a problem with ads. I get it’s what keeps the app free and functioning. But ads that pop up literally every other word while I’m typing out a message is beyond ridiculous.
Why do you keep making it worse?
This app used to be great. Every update makes it less functional and less reliable. Bring back the Kik of 6 years ago!!!
Bots and Errors
This app is absolutely nothing like it used to be.
If it’s not the errors with logging in or viewing a profile picture, it’s being bombarded by bots.
I get way more bots than normal users now, which repeat the same two messages: ‘U still have Kik’ or ‘U still have this username?’

Memories
I first got this app to chat to friends I knew. Frankly, however, as more people moved on from Kik•, the sudden change in direction for this app felt rather unnecessary. Advertisements in a social chat app alongside dating? No. Just no. I gave it 5 stars in context of the original developers. Coming back to this app after a few years to hopefully relive some of those memories again. Would also like to see the Kik Team chat be operational again too.

No matter what I do even with nsfw toggle on I can’t see ANY nsfw chats. Also some user’s profile photos don’t show while others do. Help fix this issue.

Due to the fact of kik removing live stream feature I feel like your at a big loss of usage and the fact it’s still not back and running is terrible
