Useful

Very useful app for EV car users. Have been using for more than 6 months and so far very convenient to keep track of monthly bills.

Response from developer

That’s great to hear! Thanks for the review it’s much appreciated

Editing rates

Can’t edit rates. Keyboard appears and screen doesn’t slide up and allow edit of the rate.

Nice, but Some bugs

The calculation for consumption is in metric even if you choose Miles.

Response from developer

Oh no! Good catch, that bug might have slipped in in a recent version then. I’ll have a look at that and hopefully we can fix this soon. Thanks for taking the time to send in your feedback! Update: the latest version of the app should fix this 5.0.2

Perfect

Exactly what I needed to work out how long a charge would take and how much it would cost before starting a charge. You can change the charger/speed and start a timer if needed. Perfect!
Would be five stars if could calculate day/night rates together

Response from developer

Thank you for your kind review, i'll put day night rates on the backlog. No promises but noted at least

Still can’t do custom rate.

Even after the update on 20 Dec I’m still finding I cannot add some rates. I can add anything up to 6.6kwh but I cannot add 6.7, 6.8, 6.9 etc so AC. when I do they just het added as 6.6kwh. So I can’t use the app as times are way out. I can however add them if I add them to DC charging. Weird.

Response from developer

Update: the dec 20 update simply allows you to save the different rates e.g. what it costs, the charge speeds you could already save. Both dc and ac are limited to the max speed of the selected car. If your car cannot charge at more than 6.6 kWh it will be limited to that speed. Maybe in your case the car has faster charge infrastructure than I have set in the data. Or the charge curve is better or has improved over what I have. Please remember that this will always be an estimate not an exact number. Hi Andy, those are some great feature suggestions. Showing the current estimated percentage is something on my todo so hopefully I will be able to add that soon. As for your question; yes you could try adding a custom charger for a slightly higher speed. That might get you a more exact estimate. Sadly it's impossible to be correct for every situation there are just too many factors at play. The current weather, the state of the battery, whether you drove fast before charging or not are all things that might influence the actual charging time. So the estimate is meant as an average that will still be helpful in most situations I hope!

The most useful EV app

I frequently use this convenient app. Since I rely on public charging, it’s invaluable to quickly determine whether it's worth the hassle of driving a little farther for a cheaper charge and calculate the difference in cost. My one request is to be able to change the start time. This would be useful as many of the charges near me have cheap overnight rates, and being able to see what the Soc is at the end of that cheaper time would be useful.

Response from developer

Thank you for the generous review! I’ve had this request more often, it’s an interesting use case. I’ll have to figure out a way to make this happen without complicating things for everyone else though. I’ll think about it, thanks.

Times are a little off.

I’m still finding that your app tells me a charge from 18% to 82% would take 3h42 yet in reality it takes 3hr13. It says a 7.4kwh charger will charge at 6.6kwh, but mine must be charging quicker. Settings are a little all over the place. Nice looking app but I just can’t use it until it reflects the correct charge time/rate. My car is a Nissan Leaf 2nd gen 2021. I just wish there was an option to change the charge rate so that I could tweak it to the correct rate.

Shane

This app works perfectly as indicated, it is extremely easy to use and is very useful.
I would suggest as a possible update, the ability to add additional cars (as I have 2 ev’s) and the ability to store charge data.

exemple : tucson phev 13,4kw

Response from developer

Sorry about that, I chose to focus on BEV car models only for this app. Hope you can still get some use out of it.

Bornes 120 kw

Dommage !

Response from developer

Great simple to use tool

This app really helps when needing to balance between a rapid charge and a slow AC charge.
I have used when at the office and I need a full battery to travel in 6hrs , but the AC 7kW units wouldn’t do it in time , this help tell me what rapid charge I need to inject first to allow the cheaper 7kW to achieve 100% before I leave

Thanks for the solid review, glad to hear the app could help you out!

A great app. And free.

I have a Leaf 2021 40kw. To charge my car from 50% to 80% takes just under 1 hour 40 mins. Just downloaded your app and it’s suggesting that for the same charge it would take 1hr 47. That’s a little over and would get me to probably 82%. All the settings are correct, I’m not sure why the small discrepancy. It’s free, so I’m not going to drag the star rating down, I think once this is tweaked it would be my go-to EV calculating app. Maybe my car charges a little faster than the 6.6kw your app defaults to ? Not sure. Is there a way I can tweak the 6.6kw to make it a little more (to suit my setup ?). Another feature that would be nice is when you have the charging timer set and it goes to the screen saver front screen. It would be nice for the percentage to increment up (like the miles do). That way you have a rough idea of what your car percentages is at any given time.

Now includes the cost of charging

Thank you for updating the app with the cost for charging. This makes this simple but great app even better.

Response from developer

Thank you! A feature based on many suggestions from users so do keep sending in your feedback.

Does what it says

Straightforward app with a clean user interface. The list of EVs is comprehensive and seems to cover the major marques and variants. Good customisation options for each timed recharge and appears accurate. Handy tool for home charging and when on the move.

Potentially useful app

The 100% range on a very common Chevy 2020 Bolt is 318 miles per the app. It’s estimated to be 259 miles per the book. Not sure how the app is so far off.

Response from developer

Thanks for the input! I’ll look into the estimates for this model, maybe there are different models of the car I’m not taking into account right now.

Response from developer

Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated!

Not working

I want to love this app. However for my car (Zoe 22) it has a bug rendering it useless. No time shown!

Response from developer

I’m sorry to hear that! I’ll look into this and hopefully fix it in an upcoming release as I was not aware of this issue.

Old data

The range for the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 RWD extended range battery needs to be added or at least update the data for the “2021”. Was there actually a 2021?

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll look into this data issue and hopefully resolve it in an upcoming release.
