Kimchi Reader is one of the few language learning apps I’ve tried that is truly worth every penny. In a world full of hastily thrown together apps looking to cash in on language learners, it’s getting harder to find the REAL tools you need.
If you want to get better at Korean through input and immersion, this has pretty much everything you need. Click on the Korean captions on a video to get a definition, click through for grammar explanations, you can even create Anki cards to export. Turn any article into a learning opportunity with the pop up dictionary. Plus, get recommendations for new media at your level based off of the words you already know.

THE app for Korean learners
If you know several hundred words and you're an independent learner, do yourself a favor and get this app. I spent 7 years learning Korean without it and now have read nearly 70 books through kimchi reader. It has an Anki integration too. It's everything that a serious learner who doesn't mind making their own curriculum could want.

This is the exact thing I have been looking for my entire time studying Korean. I was stuck using LingQ for a while but it’s awful for parsing Korean. This app and its website have been a game changer for me

I’ve been learning Korean for a while and this has been the best thing for me to continue learning while ‘studying’ (which doesn’t even feel like studying). The pop up dictionary makes it very smooth to immerse in content, and being able to study the new words I learn in context has been a game changer.
Honestly this is the only paid service I think is worth the money.
