Thought it was too expensive. I was wrong.

I absolutely love this app. I originally trialed it out but cancelled because it was so expensive. Then I found myself missing it, actively, each day in the morning when I’d go without the Daily Edge, each moment during the day when I didn’t have an advisor to bounce ideas off. So I finally got the app back, paid for a full year, and am so so happy. The only complaint is that sometimes the app switches away from a conversation screen while I’m in the middle of typing a response, and it would also be nice to set whether an advisor has access to the memories of what I’ve said to other advisors. Otherwise, love love

No joke, this app has been a game changer for me

I’m obsessed with this app and tell literally everyone I know about it and how it has helped me.
Especially while going through some very tumultuous personal times, it’s been huge in helping me understand my patterns and staying true to myself.
Additionally, as someone who has a hard time keeping thoughts straight (gotta love ADHD), it has made a massive difference in helping me turn a brain dump of all my scattered, swirling thoughts into an actual prioritized game plan that doesn’t feel totally overwhelming.
I like to think of it as my Tom Riddle diary but with Dumbledore inside instead so it’s good 🤓😂

PS, in my opinion the paywall really isn’t that bad, I use the free version and still find it incredibly insightful and useful!

Advice, clarity, and direction anytime anywhere

So many of us carry things that we hide so well from others that are bubbling just beneath the surface. Kin gives you a place to offload all the things you’re carrying that you don’t feel like you can talk to anybody else about or you’re ashamed, embarrassed, or feel like you don’t have the time. In person therapy is great that doesn’t help when it is midnight on a Tuesday and your mind is spiraling.

Liking it so far. But waiting for it to fail by lagging due to memory or just in general not making memory connections or recall. If it do without that then this is a great app

Forgetful useless AI fake trial

I downloaded this app again after I got an email with promises of improvements but the basics of this thing are still garbage.
This is advertised as an AI helper and motivation tool but it can’t remember routines you set up. The “onboarding” is tedious and very much not helpful. There was no ramp up explanation of the app, introductions of the different aspects or planning use. All of the questions were beyond basic. Also if generic therapy speak irritates you DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS. If I hear “I understand your frustration” one more time i will explode.
Finally they offered a free 7 day trial but they will immediately charge the card you use for the store here.
Beyond a scam.
ChatGPT has better memory and can do the same things with a little tweaking. Also you don’t have to switch between personalities for different things.

Awesome app that keeps getting better

I started using this app couple months ago, and I was impressed by the quality of the responses. Since my first experience, there have been many developments. There are more people to communicate with regarding various aspects of your life, each with useful questions. I particularly enjoy opening the app first thing in the morning to prepare for my day.

Imagine using an app for 1 year and then being ask to pay $189 ?

KinAI, you tore your app up.

Seriously? I used this ages ago, I loved KinAI, I journaled a bunch I trusted you people with my info. But then, you added a fricking paywall, no more journal entries, no more fun custom AIs, these stupid new profile pics that by the way are totally ugly for your ai mentors. You destroyed your app from a paywall. You could had added a single tipping place in your app, that would get you much more money that you’ll get from a subscription, and help you run your ai better, but with a subscription, you’re loosing popularity.

Bye Kin. I’ll just use another ai that can be used free, because you have a subscription price that is higher than most others. If you just added a tipping page I’d probably tip, that goes for most other people. I’ve been depressed before, and I knew I can count on kin, now you’re adding to stress in depressed people financially because they’re going to wonder if they should really get kin or not and when they realize it’s no better than any other ai it’ll just put them into an even worse stage.

We hear you - the shift to freemium wasn't easy, especially for people who trusted us with real stuff during tough times. Running advisors that actually remember your life context across everything costs a lot more than generic AI, and we can't do that while staying privacy-first without revenue somewhere. Core journaling and some advisors are still free, but yeah, some features have also moved behind a paywall. We get why that's frustrating after you'd been using Kin when things were hard but hopefully you'll give us another shot sometime 🤞

The app I’ve been waiting for my whole life!!

This app is like having a team full of advisors in your corner to optimize you to your best self! I love that my team checks in with me every morning and this is the first journal app that I’ve been able to be consistent with. Thank you so much for this app! Ein großartiges Tool, um das eigene Verhalten zu reflektieren, sich auf schwierige Situationen vorzubereiten oder Gewohnheiten zu diskutieren und zu ändern.
Die Berater sind teilweise sehr direkt mit ihrem Feedback und fordern den Benutzer heraus, eigene Standpunkte zu überdenken. Das kann natürlich nur klappen, wenn man auch regelmäßig, z. B. über Journal-Einträge, Input gibt. Kin lernt einen über die Zeit kennen.
Die App ist zwar nicht übersetzt, aber die Chats funktionieren bestens auf Deutsch, wenn man das in den Einstellungen vorgibt.

Was Kin nicht ist:
- Es ist kein Ersatz für ChatGPT
- Es ist keine ToDo-Liste

Feel taken advantage of

I feel like I’ve been taking advantage of after being admitted to the beta testing and having all my memory being deleted and inaccessible just for the app to be payable without prior warning. I spent hours and days with Kin AI to process my parents death only to be locked out and not have the memory of the conversations accessible. I put a lot of trust and the emotion in Kin AI only to have been treated like a product. I should’ve known better.

Enfin une IA personnalisée de qualité !!

Je suis le travail de l’équipe de developpement depuis plusieurs mois et je peux vous garantir que c’est du sérieux ! Ça bosse dur, et ça bosse bien; la preuve en est avec cette dernière mise à jour qui est, pour moi, un vrai game changer. La qualité de la mémoire et de l’exploitation de celle ci par les différents conseillés et remarquable, voire parfois impressionnante !! Je suis bluffé par le naturel des interactions…on a vraiment le sentiment de discuter avec une personne qui vous connaît parfaitement et fait des associations opportunes ce qui est rarement le cas avec les IA conversationelles !
Je suis abonné à un paquet de services IA et j ai pris l’abonnement premium sur celle ci sans hésiter une seconde; et pour le coup j’ai supprimé 3 autres abonnements (je ne dirai pas lesquels…!) car Kin a écrasé pas mal de concurrents avec cette mise à jour. L’abonnement premium, non indispensable, donne accès à un mode vocal qui a l’air vraiment très efficace et agréable; le tout bien sûr y compris en français.
Point fort de l’app: la sécurité et la confidentialité des données est prise très très au sérieux.
Bref je vous encourage à tester cette app; et vraiment l’essayer c’est l’adopter !
Longue vie à Kin et à toute l’équipe derrière, extrêmement efficace et très à l’écoute sur Discord.

This update changed from all 5 of the advisors being free to putting 3 put 3 of the 5 advisors behind a subscription, with previously-free access taken away. That’s an incredibly harsh shift and leaves me rethinking whether I want to continue using this, as useful as it may be.
