Can’t earn trophies, hence can’t advance
I like the app. However you cannot earn trophies when you win chess matches. And you need three trophies to upgrade your castle to level two to advance in the game. Have won ten matches and didn’t earn the coins wagered or my trophies. Also, had a guy checkmate next turn. He let go click run out and then game ended as a draw. That shouldn’t happen. Very buggy. Would be fun if it was fixed.(I did contact support weeks ago. They told me nothing I can do until they fix it in a future update. I am using latest version. I am not the only one with the issue and you guys know about the issue so don’t make it seem like I am an isolated incident).

Whenever I win a game it restarts my entire progress playing and doesn’t count the win. It is kanda good but not for me.

Too many bugs…
So many bugs it’s literally only playable if I’m white. Every time a game starts and I’m assigned to black, the game always times out and ends in a draw. If I’m white though, it’s fine… and that’s if I can even play a game, usually the server isn’t responding - really annoying cause it’s otherwise quite fun. Not sure what the devs are doing to address these bugs?

Game is fun just a recent bug
There’s a bug I’ve had for a couple months where any pvp game whether I win or lose it counts as a draw so I get no trophies and can’t progress in the game. It was fun getting all the avatar costumes and thought the bug wouldn’t last this long. The game is fully updated. I hope I can get some help thanks.

Bug with the battle system
There is a bug with the battle system. For the last two battles that I won I didn’t receive any rewards or trophies. This makes it impossible to progress in the game.
It’s very frustrating to win a hard fought match against a real person and get no reward!
Update: Reinstalling has no effect. I’m using the latest version. I play everyday and you are unable to get any rewards. Support was not helpful.

Bug with the battle system

Does game work?
I’ve tried multiple times to play another player it just spins and says looking. It doesn’t look possible to play anyone.
Lack of proper updating
The development team donor seem to care what many users have said about not fixing fundamental bugs that prevent upgrading the Castle and progressing in the game - lift your performance guys!
Battles can’t be fought
As of Nov 16 20, 2024 — with the update that said that the matching of players has been improved — there is no way to battle another player. The animation just goes around and around and around and around.
The puzzles would be greatly improved if we could go back to all of them, not just those in the current level.
The biggest help in learning would be boss puzzles that didn’t disappear. How are we supposed to understand what they are about when they vanish the second they solved? The main site does this so well.
The app is terribly inconsistent in how many attempts it gives you in boss mode. I had 5 more to go and was put back to 10 after one failed attempt, when all along it had been giving me three attempts. That’s unfair.

So many bugs, no updates
The game has been bugged for so long now and it only seems to be getting worse. I wasn’t able to review my battles and everything came through as draw, whether it was a loss or a win, with certain exceptions like time running out. You don’t win any coins when winning either… now it’s always -2 from your rating whether it’s a draw, win or loss, that doesn’t even show up. Terrible, issues have been ongoing for months now.

Has potential, but is flawed
1. This game surely makes chess more interactive than it already is.
2. The problem is, when I play as black, it automatically aborts the game, even if they play the move within time
3. At the tower, I only have the ability to review games against the computer.

Glitch ruins progression
This game is really fun and good to learn chess strategies but it gets ruined by a glitch with the pvp that you don’t get or lose the rewards which makes you have to wait a day to progress and bad progression has games feel less fun at least for me so please fix thank you

Broken - Wins say draw
Right now it’s impossible to advance because of a bug — even when you win it says draw and doesn’t give you the trophies that you need to upgrade the castle.
Games don’t end
As of Oct 20, 2024, or so, some checkmated games don’t end. There is no way out save resigning or killing the app. This has happened both against the bots and against other players, but it doesn’t happen all the time.

Chess.com doesn’t maintain their kids apps
It is becoming a pattern they make a new app it looks great my kid enjoys it then it stops working and they don’t fix it. The old app (Adventure chess) was great and then became buggy beyond use. This started out ok and now says every game is a draw and doesn’t give the results or rewards. To chess.com: Pick an app and keep it up to date.
