Reporting and blocking tools help keep the experience enjoyable. LEARN TO PLAY Twenty-two interactive lessons guide beginners from square names and piece movement to checkmate, castling, en passant, promotion, draws, opening principles, forks, pins, skewers, and mating patterns. Practice board notation with the Coordinates trainer while Coach Paul reads each step aloud. PLAY 20 BOTS, THEN THE ENGINE Face Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Master, and Streamer bots, each with a hand-drawn portrait, preferred opening repertoire, distinct personality, and unique voice. Challenge four Grandmaster styles: the positional Professor, the attacking Tactician, the defensive Wall, and the all-round Prodigy. Defeat all four to unlock the Kingside Engine, powered by Stockfish 19. Your bot rating rises with every victory. EVERY TIME CONTROL Choose time controls from 30 seconds to 30 minutes, with or without an increment—or play without a clock. Pass & Play lets two people play on the same device. GAME REVIEW WITH A TALKING COACH After each game, Coach Paul discusses your play aloud while Stockfish evaluates every move. Review move classifications ranging from Book and Best to Mistake, Miss, and Blunder. See each player’s accuracy score, an evaluation graph, and grades for the Opening, Middlegame, and Endgame. View the engine’s Best line or tap Retry to find a stronger move yourself. PUZZLES FOR EVERY LEVEL • Choose Beginner, Intermediate, Professional, or Adaptive puzzles. • Play 1-, 3-, or 5-minute Puzzle Rush with three strikes. • Build your Puzzle Streak—one mistake ends the run. • Solve a new Daily Puzzle in a 365-day difficulty cycle. Choose from eight board colors, two piece sets, and a Zen mode that hides ratings during play. Captures make a satisfying clack, while standard moves remain quiet. RELAXING JAZZ Enjoy five original jazz pieces and three calm focus tracks that play live and vary slightly each time. The music automatically lowers during Bullet and Blitz games, and you can turn it off whenever you like. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No ads, no tracking, and no account required for bots, puzzles, or lessons.
