For everyone who was there
About
What's New in Kins
4.1.0
October 19, 2026
You can now send photos to Kins from other apps. Tap Share on a photo in Photos, a chat, or something that came in over AirDrop, pick Kins, choose the album, and you land right on the caption screen. Send several photos and videos at once if you like; they go up just as they are. Every shot from the Kins camera now also saves the original, before any filter, to your Photos. You pick filters after you shoot, so the original is always there if none of them feels right. If you don't need the extra copy, turn it off in Kins Settings. Getting to the Kins camera is quicker, too. "Open Kins Camera" now shows up in Shortcuts, Siri and Spotlight, so you can put it on the Action button or in Control Center. The help page on joinkins.com walks you through it. Sharing has a new screen. Tap share on a photo or video from the camera, a post in an album, or a photo strip, and the card you're about to send shows up big first, with Instagram, X, Save and More right below it. Photos and photo strips go straight to your Instagram story. The card comes in Black, White or Photo color. Photo color takes two colors from your photo and fades one into the other from top to bottom, so every card comes out a little different. Kins remembers the color you picked for next time. New post now opens full screen and always dark. While you pick, the preview shows the whole photo instead of cropping it. We took out the step where you picked a filter for each photo. Filters are in the Kins camera, where you add them as you shoot, and photos from your library go up just as they are. Pick your photos, write a line, and you're done. The camera shutter now fires the moment your finger touches it. Before, it fired when you lifted your finger, and the phone could move a little in between. Capture is faster too, so you'll get fewer shaky shots. Photo strip frames are redrawn to real print proportions. The tall strip is 2×6 inches and the 2×2 is 4×6, with room at the bottom for the Kins wordmark. And the short tour people see when they first open Kins now matches the app as it looks today. Moving between home and the camera now follows your finger. Stop halfway and it stays halfway; let go and it settles on the closer side. The screen you see when Kins opens got a fresh look, and Kins now speaks Traditional Chinese (Taiwan). — The Kins team
