Thank you for using Kiratoru! Here's what we shipped this time: Related Words, Rebuilt - Transitive/intransitive pairs finally show up for the verbs you actually meet - 消える/消す, 入る/入れる, 出る/出す and hundreds more, sourced from a curated list instead of a hopeful guess. The guess has been thanked for its service. - No more ghost pairs - 終わる no longer claims 卒す as its partner, because 卒す is not a word anyone has said since the Heian period. - Related words are proper rows now: word, reading, meaning - so "see also" tells you what you're seeing before you tap it. - Pair first, antonym next, see-also ranked by how common the word is, with the long tail tucked behind "Show more". Fourteen unranked chips was a test of faith, not a feature. - Tapping a related word opens the right entry even for look-alikes - 開く (あく) no longer teleports you to ひらく. New: Lists Beyond JLPT - Jōyō kanji by school grade, Kanken 10級-2級, and frequency tiers from Top 1,000 down to 9,001-10,000 - all browsable next to JLPT. Your study plan can now be as ambitious as your guilt. - Every list builds a one-tap preset deck, kanji lists included, in list order. Deck building is now a reflex, not a weekend. - Filter any word list by study status - All, Not known, Known, In a deck - so you stop rediscovering words you already own. - Sort list detail by list order, stroke count, or reading, and come back from a word without losing your place. Scrolling to row 412 twice is character-building; we've spared you the character. Word Frequency, For Real - Word commonness now comes from a corpus of contemporary spoken Japanese instead of dictionary tags from the dial-up era. Words your friends say now rank above words your textbook says. - Stars in kanji details reflect the written form you're looking at - rare spellings lose theirs, and search-only spellings stop showing up uninvited. Kanji Details - New Components section listing every part of a kanji, each tappable into radical search with that part pre-selected. Building 議 from pieces feels like IKEA, minus the leftover screw. - Readings now understand rendaku and sokuon - 仕事 counts for ごと, 学校 counts for がっ - so hundreds of common words stopped hiding in "unknown". - The jōyō glyph variants of 剥 填 頬 叱 now find their words instead of staring at an empty page. Four kanji, one very long overdue apology. - Long-press an example word in a kanji page to stash it for a card, same as sentences. Hoarding, still productive. - Dictionary index numbers moved to a labelled footer at the end of the page, where reference codes belong and nobody will read them. Fixes - Radical search cells on iOS no longer gray out at random - a string was being freed mid-query, which is not the kind of freedom anyone asked for.
