User reviews

Tried this conversion app.

When you choose what to convert, the one you put your finger on is not what comes up. I compared from a different site and the measurement does not match what it should be converted to. Not accurate at all.

Ingredient selection

It won’t allow me to select the ingredient I want. I select flour and it jumps to bread flour 😔

Butter weight way off

I downloaded this app and tested with ingredients I knew the conversion. Example: a pound of butter is 16 oz., 2 cups. Yet the app says a cup of butter is 4 oz., not 8 oz. and does not give 8 Tbs. for 4 oz. Butter seems to be off by half! Could really ruin a recipe!!!

Cooking with weights

The actual selected ingredient will result in showing the ingredient 2 options below the one you want. Also. The weights are inaccurate.

Off by two

Hey Anthony your app needs to be fixed. It’s off by TWO. By that I mean if you choose an item what ACTUALLY gets selected is the item TWO SPOTS BELOW. TAP ON “Sugar” you get “butter”. Tap on “baking soda” you get “sugar”.
It’s INFURIATING! Please FIX IT!

FAQ

What does the Kitchen Scale app do?

This app helps you convert standard volume measurements (like cups and tablespoons) into their equivalent weights for ingredients. It's designed to assist when recipes call for weighing but you only have volume measurements available.

How do I use the app to find ingredient weights?

Simply select the ingredient you are using, specify the volume called for in your recipe (in either US or metric units), and the app will tell you the exact weight it should be. You can then use your physical kitchen scale to measure out that amount.

What units does the app support?

The app supports a variety of US and metric volume units, including cups, teaspoons, fluid ounces, and milliliters. It can then display the corresponding weight in grams, ounces, or pounds.

Is this app free to use?

Yes, the Kitchen Scale app is available for free. There are no in-app purchases or advertisements mentioned in the provided description.

Who would benefit from using this app?

This app is ideal for bakers and cooks who want to achieve more precise results by weighing their ingredients. It's particularly useful for recipes that require accurate ingredient ratios, which can be difficult to achieve with volume measurements alone.
