What's New in Klew

2.0.1

August 30, 2026

Fixes and refinements for the 2.0 launch: APPLE PENCIL, FIXED PROPERLY Scratch out a letter and it disappears, ink and all, just like on paper. Deleting always leaves a clean cell, and writing a new letter over an old one replaces it completely. Thanks to the solver who reported this one. SMALL TOUCHES The post-solve rating now makes clear it is about how much you enjoyed the puzzle. Plus small fixes throughout.

Not proper crosswords

The same clues are used across the days for different crosswords to the point where after five days you will know a third of the answers from memory

Game-breaking โ€œbugโ€

They wanted to make an app where you can use the Apple Pencil to answer crosswords like they are on a real newspaper. I like the idea, but the execution is awful. If you make a mistake, you instinctively go to cross the letter out. This doesnโ€™t get rid of the letter though. Instead it either ignores the scribble, or replaces the incorrect letter with the scribble itself. There is no way to get rid of this, even deleting it with the keyboard doesnโ€™t work as the scribbles remains. If they fixed this issue it would be pretty decent, but this one issue makes the game unplayable.

Response from developer

Thanks for this, youโ€™re completely right, and itโ€™s fixed in the update coming this week. Scratching out a letter will erase it (ink and all), same as youโ€™d expect on paper, and deleting always leaves a clean cell. The pencil mode is exactly why I built Klew for iPad, so this report genuinely helped. -Henry

Good one slight fix needed

As soon as I complete the puzzle it immediately shows the score. We never get to see the completed puzzle. There should be an option to see it.
