Does Not Work Correctly With VoiceOver Screen Reader

This comes fairly close to working, starts very promising, but the tap me image says disabled, and after character creation reads the text and then there seems to be no accessible way to advance after the character says how wrong they are. I’m a totally blind person. VoiceOver is already successfully reading parts of this game. VoiceOver is Apple’s built in screen reader for the blind. There is a site called Applevis dedicated to iPhone accessibility.

A amazing game concept I wish they would expand

Knights of San Francisco was an amazing game that I had a truly fun time playing. I really wish they would either make a sequel or another game based of its design.

Wonderful Adventure

I loved the way this adventure is formatted so cleanly and the story is great! Maybe a smidge too easy but that doesn’t ding the game at all

Masterpiece in a small package

This game might not look like much at first, but it stands out among all the RPGs I’ve played thanks to the great writing and unique setting. A limited number of scenes is enough to create a vivid world where imagination fills in the gaps. Although the gameplay is ultimately not too difficult, the story is suspenseful and every choice feels high-stakes.

Great music and art as well. Thoroughly recommended.

Refreshing and lots of fun.

I just finished “Knights of San Francisco” after stumbling over it somewhere on youtube. I haven’t played such a refreshingly different title since “Disco Elysium”, although I have to admit that Knights is much shorter and therefore just cannot go that deep in teems of storytelling. What I loved most was the world building: Using the Transamerica Pyramid as the skeleton and fleshing out a post-apocalyptic fantasy world around it worked so well for me and got me hooked from the start. I also enjoyed the text based mechanics that cleverly abstract from the stats and number crunching in the background.

Excellent text based RPG

This is a wonderful take on the text based rpg. Very reminiscent of long ago (80s) games like Forbidden Lands with great updates such as engaging graphics, accessible controls, and great music. I would recommend to anyone looking for a choose-your-own-adventure type game. My only gripe is that there is no sequel, since the game takes at most a few hours to complete.

Well done!

Pacing. Setting. Story. Concept. Characters. Dialog. Difficulty. All of it was spot on.

*****

Flawless. Mesmerizing.

Pretty sweet

Nice little game here. Runs really smooth and has great art. A bit linear for being an rpg and the game is more or less trivially easy. With that said it’s still a fun and charming experience that u would recommend

Not sure the point of the sanity mechanic though - seems to be no way to replenish it and no consequences from it.

I went back to the trader a few times to see if I could barter for some items but that didn’t appear to be an option here.

Would get a lot of joy out of playing a bigger more difficult game built with the same type of system.

Good work

Love the story and the little details in it.

I got hooked!

I’m usually the type of person to try and skip all the dialogue to get straight into the mechanics and action of a game. However I took my time and treated this game like a book. I’m really glad I did. I completed the game in 3 half hour sessions and was inspired by the design and the story. I wish it was longer with more story, but that’s a good thing! Looking forward to more from this developer.

Amazing just short

Please make h TV is game longer or add extensions I love it

A very unique experience

Wow, the only negative I have to say about this game is that it’s not longer!

This is a very unique story driven experience. It gives you enough choices where you actually have to think about what you’re doing, but not too much that it detracts from the story and breaks the immersion.

I definitely recommend it!

A fun little game

Not that long but an interesting concept and fun. Well worth the price.

Enjoyable, if a little pricey

This is a well-crafted and unfortunately short game. And while there are RPG-like decisions which can be made, I do not feel like they carried much weight in the game world. I do not know how much more I will get from more play-through

I would certainly be interested in a sequel with hopefully more story, world-building, and far-branching consequences of choices.

Great modern take on the game book format

The first thing I noticed in Knights is how well designed the UI is. Modern, pared back, but crafted with small, well thought out flourishes (like the way the text loads in).

The flow of the dialogue and story is excellent, and the amount of options in the combat system really makes it stand out from others in the genre. And despite some familiar tropes, the story feels very modern.

Looking forward to making my way up the tower!

Amazing, so unique

I don’t usually play games as I can’t commit the time, not being productive kills me. This game is only 90mins to finish, such a great experience! Highly recommend.

Beautifully designed & enjoyable!

This is a unique idea that is executed brilliantly well! Enjoyed the game through and through.

I didn’t want to overthink the narrative/story of the game but it felt like it had some golden nuggets stashed in there, whether sayings or funny references, you be the judge!
I even managed to learn a couple new words while playing lol

Tho maybe because I’ve abused the ability to reload the choices, I noticed that sometimes the interaction box gets duplicated.

Anyway, impressive work Filip, also Alec’s illustrations were fitting!

Thanks and appreciation all the way from Saudi Arabia!!

Most fun I've ever had with a text game

A game feels most exciting to me in the time before I start to understand how it works. In those early minutes, I am making decisions based on what my character would actually do in the situation, not min/maxing stats and numbers.

With its language-based approach, this game never let me see the numbers behind the curtain, and this kept me on my toes from start to finish. It reminded me of the depth of a game like Dwarf Fortress with its anatomy system. I was forced to put myself in the shoe (singular, my character was missing a foot) of the protagonist and think in the context of the fantasy future setting.

The game was polished and flaws were minor. I would have liked to hear more from my recruited party members for one. It felt easy since I finished without dying and with lots of food, but maybe that's the luck of the number generator. I'm unsure if I've missed many hidden parts of the game or if I've seen everything.

I beat the game feeling like I still wanted more combat, exploration, and dialog. I would buy a sequel or continuation with the same engine in a heartbeat.

110% worth it

This game is pretty short, but it is definitely entirely worth the (small) price of admission. I have never played a game like this before and wasn’t entirely sure how much I would like the format, but the music and the story pulled me in and I played the entire thing in one go. If a sequel or extension to this (or even a separate game in a similar style from the same dev) was ever released I would buy it in a heartbeat
