Touch

Touch detection need to improve. It can be enjoyable but when you’re touching it and nothings happening, it’s frustrating especially when you’re trying to do the same thing multiple times.

Poor Controls

Very frustrating control system. Poorly executed. Intermittent and haphazard controls. The game looks great it just doesn’t work well enough to make it enjoyable.

Waste Of Money

Horrible controls, could barely get past the first level. Touch detection is horrible. There kept being a message that was just random letters that kept popping up on the side of the game that I’m convinced was random letters or a different language. Horrible 20 minutes of my life wasted.

Touch controls are frustrating

As the title states, trying to untangle the creature thing is very frustrating using touch controls, especially when the thing is actually trying to tangle itself back up. Deleted after playing first level.

A bit too challenging

This game is amazing. I’d play it all day if I could, but it’s kinda... how do I say this? Too hard...? Now, I’m not trying to be mean or anything! The timers are really short for such hard puzzles and the string tangle THEMSELVES up. If you could remove that feature I would greatly appreciate it, as well as the timer being removed or lengthened. I also do love the fact that there are no “lives” on this game. (Please don’t add lives) But if you read this thanks, but don’t let this review get you down! I’d still highly recommend this game.

EDIT AFTER RESPONSE:

Thanks, but the worm things moving back after I almost untie them is still kinda frustrating. 😖 Also, how do you switch to zen mode?

Response from developer

Thank you very much for your review. You can enjoy the game without the time constraint switching to the Zen Mode.

Bad touch detection, time limits ruin the game

Update: there is a mode to play without time limits, so I’ll bump up to three stars.

It’s gorgeous and unique. But hampered by inaccurate touch detection and time limits.

It would be much more enjoyable if there were a option to just untangle the knots and enjoy the experience rather than racing against a clock. Part of the appeal of this game is simply enjoying the physics engine and watching the knots respond to touches.

Response from developer

Thank you very much for your review. If you want to enjoy the game without the time constraint you can switch to the Zen Mode. As for the controls, it takes a while to get used to it, but once you get it it's worth your while. To understand them faster, prove the tutorial, the gestures are all explained there.

Let Down

The graphics are nice and it seems as though it would be a fun puzzle game, however the controls are so awkward it almost makes the game unplayable.

Boring, lame waste of money

Was $2.99, stopped playing three levels in, was just really not fun at all. Controls are pretty wonky. Might be a bit more fun without a time limit

Good concept, horrendous execution.

I had been waiting for this game for a while, but it doesn't live up to its reputation. The game's frustrating controls don't allow you to zoom in on the knot (which often only takes up a small fraction of the screen), and one often ends up dragging the wrong bight as a result. Furthermore, the ropes wiggle around excessively to the point that they often reknot themselves, constantly undoing your progress. Pulling on a single rope only works as far as your screen will allow, as opposed to commonsense game design (shorten excessively long ends so that pulling can work regardless of the length of the bight), so users with smaller screens naturally have to use more moves. Let's not also forget the fact that all the levels are timed, meaning that whether or not you can complete a level is far more dependent on whether Lady Luck smiles upon you and keeps the ropes from wiggling around too much.

I would find far more fun in undoing the knots in my headphone wires. Compared to the price of this app, that experience is far cheaper.

Terrible boring

It's not worth really want refund don't buy it you'll be disapointed😡😡

Meh...

It's ok

Finally, an innovative puzzle game

I am a fan of puzzle games, but it's the first time I find a game where the puzzle is a living creature.

The creature is controlled in a brilliant and unforeseen way: a quick tap on the creature to slide, a prolonged one to drag, a swipe below to make it rotate.

There are several levels to face, each one characterised by a proper difficulty to make this game challenging and, at the same time, very funny.

I am constantly playing knotmania, and I think that I can define myself as a knotmaniac.

This game is strongly recommended.

It doesn't even work for me...

I downloaded this app onto my 6s plus and it didn't work. Then I downloaded it onto my iPad Air 2 and it doesn't work. I've waisted money on an app that looks like it will be an awesome puzzle game. It's definitely puzzling alright!

Disappointed....

Awkward controls and trying to implement a storyline into a puzzle game are what really brought this game down for me. Would not recommend.

Beautiful and very fun

This is a gorgeous game. It's quite different, and delightfully strange feeling. The little strings feel alive when you manipulate them--it's the most interesting thing! Beautiful and highly recommended.

Need More Than 5 Stars!

What an original and unique game!!! I love it. The graphics are superb and the music is very cool. The game is to untie various knots Not as easy as it sounds. Some levels are really challenging!theres a timer that adds to the challenge, so try, try again. The 3D ropes are so colorful and tactile and seem alive. This one is DEFINITELY worth getting!

Good game!

Creative and challenging, could use GC achievements because there are different level goals.
