Knowmad: Words & Flashcards

Knowmad turns the books you read to learn into memory you keep. As you read, select what matters and turn it into a flashcard — or define a word on the spot — with every capture linked to the exact page it came from. Then spaced repetition brings it back at the right moment, so the time you spend reading becomes knowledge that lasts. Most reading apps stop at the highlight. You mark a sentence, and it just sits there — no path from "I just read this" to "I'll remember it next month." So serious readers stitch together a reader, a dictionary, and a separate flashcard app, and most give up somewhere in the chain. Knowmad makes the whole loop native and continuous in one place: read, capture, review, return to source. It's built for anyone who reads to learn — professionals, language learners, lifelong learners, and serious readers working through dense or technical material — and for anyone who wants to finish a book and actually remember it. READ • Import PDFs and organize them into folders in your own library • Always return to your exact spot — even when you switch devices • Jump by chapter outline or page thumbnails, with back and forward history • Zoom built for dense pages: double-tap to fit the text column to your screen CAPTURE • Turn any text selection into a flashcard in one tap, or crop a figure or diagram as an image card • Select a word and tap Define to learn it the way you choose per language: a meaning explained in simple words you already know, or a translation — with example sentences and spoken pronunciation • Collect captures across pages and finish the card or definition when you're ready • Grow a modern commonplace book as you read — the passages, figures, and words worth keeping, gathered in one place you'll actually revisit • Every flashcard stays linked to its source — tap a card to jump straight back to the page STUDY • Review flashcards with spaced repetition: cards you know fade back, cards you struggle with come up more often • Learn vocabulary through staged drills — multiple choice, letter assembly, then typing the word — until it's truly learned • Study a book's due cards and words right from the reader AI THAT ASSISTS, NEVER TAKES OVER AI helps define words, refine captured text, or suggest a question — on-device with Apple Intelligence, or through an external AI provider you connect with your own key. You always stay the editor, and the app never floods you with auto-generated cards. CALM BY DESIGN No account to create, no streaks to keep alive, no notifications nagging you to come back. Learning shouldn't pressure you — open the app when you want to read or study, and it stays quiet the rest of the time. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Knowmad has no account. Your files stay in your own iCloud or on your device, and your flashcards and words sync through your own private iCloud database. We don't operate a cloud library of your files — the textbooks, work files, and study material you import stay yours. Your learning library belongs to you. FREE AND PLUS The free tier includes 3 books, 50 flashcards, and 50 saved words — enough to make the loop a habit. Knowmad Plus removes the limits. And whatever happens with your subscription, everything you've added — every book, flashcard, and word — stays available to read, study, and edit. Reading is how knowledge gets in. Knowmad is how it stays. Import your first book and see for yourself. Terms of Use: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
