Great story-telling app
I’ve been looking for an app like this for some time. I found this one today and gave it a try. So far I love it. It’s easy to use and offers pretty good functions. I would like to see several things. 1-the ability to offer more than four choices. 2-the ability to make the Go To function go to a random page, either in a given range, a given chapter, or selected set of pages. 3-the ability to assign a random number to a variable. Edit regarding update 1.6.1 - font stroke color cannot be changed back to “none” once you pick a color. Picking “none” simply retains the past color picked. Please add the random number capability. I need to be able to generate random events (what’s in a particular room, or what treasure is in a box.) Edit: Been 3 months since an update. Still desperately hoping for random functions (random numbers to variables and random “go to” locations. Any time soon?

Really cool but needs some improvements
This so an amazing app to make visual novels but I wish that we had more control when editing the home page like we can change color fonts and size of the homepage text but overall this is a really good app
Really fun! Just one problem, not sure if it’s an issue in my end
This is a really fun app and it’s worked great for me so far! It’s absolutely perfect, there’s just one thing I’m having trouble with. The share function won’t work for me, I’ve tried sending the visual novel I’m making to my friend because it’s a sort of collaboration with her oc’s, but it always fails to send. I’ve tried what I could by sending it through files and stuff but it hasn’t worked. I’m not sure if it’s a problem on my end or the device I use, for example I use an iOS, so maybe some sharing formats just aren’t compatible? Regardless thanks so much for this app! I’m having a lot of fun with it!

Hi, Kocho. I’ve recently re-downloaded this app and I’ve came to realize that everything from my workshop is deleted. It’s all gone, almost as if it’s my first time downloading this app and I can’t recover anything seeing as this is on another device. I really enjoy this app and I had fun stories in mind, so plz help. Thank you!

Great app, unusable due to constant crashing
I came to this app hoping to bring my ideas to life, so I got two of my main characters together for my prologue scene. This app has been great, until the preview, that is. I JUST wanted to make sure everything would play properly, and literally what happens every time is the app will just crash before it can even show the second main character. Please fix this app, it's really great but I can't give you more than 2 stars if I can't even use it.

This app is amazing and extremely simple and I love it, however there is only one thing I want to suggest that be added: that you could duplicate things like characters because I get tired of resizing every character when they are just changing expression. Also, I really want it to be possible that you can repeat the character editing (size and the like) so all my characters can be the same size and all I have to do is move them to the side.

Hi! Thank you very much for the review, with the version 1.6.1 our latest, you can copy and paste any kind of action and get the results you want, all your characters will be the same size when pasted, the new functions make development faster and easier. To copy an action just tap the action icon on the left and paste it using the new paste button on the top corner of the screen.

This is a great app, BUT, I can’t upload the background music anymore. It’s in an mp3 file like the other ones . I’ve tried reopening it and it didn’t work. I’m kinda upset cause I need to upload more songs for my novel.
So useful…
I can not only use this for VN making, but also joke games… it’s so fun and useful. At first I was worried about the choices being limited to four but found a method where I can have infinite routes. If I have 8 endings I can put 4 choices, each choice leading to 2 endings, and having other choices to get those endings singled out… I have lots of fun using this app and only wish there was something like this for computers. 👍👍👍

The thing is I love this app but I’m not aloud to watch normal YouTube on my iPad because my mom always catches me and I need to watch the tutorial for kocho
Choices problem
Whenever I want to preview my whole visual novel, sometimes the choices don’t work properly

so i’ve been using kocho for a while and there’s this problem with importing custom fonts.Whenever i import a custom font it doesn’t work or display the font it looks exactly the way it did before so plz fix this
Amazing, but I have a suggestion.
I’ve been wanting to make a visual novel for so long, and I finally found this app, and it is amazing. But I have some suggestions. I want to be able to add certain creepy glitches such as removing peoples save points, not letting them load, changing the title screen at act two, but when you press new game it sends you to act 2 instead of starting over. You guys don’t have to, it’s just some suggestions that I want for my horror novel. Thanks for making this app, it’s amazing!

Searching novels
I'm loving the app I just don't really like the search feature. You can only search by title which makes it hard to find new things. Could you maybe add a search by genre or a way to add hashtags to search in the future?
Amazing! Easy and great but I need help…
It’s a REALLY good app for beginner game makers and everything was relatively easy but I have one problem that whatever I do I can’t get rid of it. I added in all my character expressions with ease and started adding the character and it looked nice and the transparent background worked but when I wanted to add the character changing expression (adding the ‘change character action’ again with a different expression after dialogue) but when I added it the beginning character stayed the same but the other expression just layered on top of it. So now my 2nd expression character is just layered on top of the 1st and I moved the dialogue around and the change character, I even tried adding some sort of a fade out action on the 1st character (which would’ve made it look weird because it’s just changing expression) but it kept staying the same! I searched up the issue on google, YouTube, and even checked the app itself but I found no answer! It deceased my motivation to use Kocho, which is a shame because it’s a really really good app! All I need is some sort of help or anything.

Great app but one huge bug rn
I don’t usually write reviews but there’s no report bug feature so here goes.
I’ve only been using Kocho for a little bit but I love it. It makes the VN making process quick and simple even if it’s a bit limited with what you can do at times. However there is a HUGE problem I’ve been having with the app lately. I can’t upload audio files. Period. I’ve tried multiple file types, smaller sizes, different songs entirely, nothing works. This didn’t happen when I first got the app but something seems to have broken. Please fix asap!

So the app is amazing period but I have this glitch where is I try to put down a transparent image from my files the background turns white this only just happened! Help?

Okay, don’t get me wrong but I love this app, but whenever I add my characters (when the background is transparent) the background is all white, not transparent, so when I add the scenery it’s the character with a white screen behind it, I’ve tried EVERYTHING to remove it on different apps but it just didn’t work, and I’m not sure how to remove it.. Is there something you could do or a tutorial on how to remove the white screen behind the characters?

I would like this option so I can add more bells and whistles to my novel, and to share it on Steam and itch.io. Ren’py is open source, so hopefully something can be worked out.
