About
Life gets busy. Good friendships slip anyway. Koinonia is a simple app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac that remembers who you meant to call, what you last talked about, and when someone is due for a catch-up. No feed, no likes, no streaks.
Koinonia is for everyone:
For the introvert who needs prompting,
and the extrovert who needs organisation
For the pastor with many to shepherd,
and a friend worth more than their weight in gold
For the Type A who likes to be organised,
for the Type B who needs to be organised
KEY FEATURES:
Organise Your People
Group friends into Circles like Best Friends, Family, Work, or Church. Each circle has a colour you choose. On the friends grid, circle colours show as rings around each photo (up to four colours blended when someone is in several circles). Filter by circle, sort by name or last catch-up, and see each friend's catch-up status on the grid.
Set Your Rhythm
Choose how often you'd like to catch up with each friend: weekly, monthly, or just when it feels right. Koinonia tracks your catch-up history and shows clear status: Overdue (red), Due (orange), Scheduled (blue), and On Track (green).
Never Miss a Moment
Your Timeline shows upcoming birthdays, important dates, reminders, planned catch-ups, and friends who are due — grouped as overdue, today, this week, and later. Tap a row to open a profile. Long-press to Plan, Log, or Reschedule. Swipe left on overdue items to snooze for one week.
Agenda
Add things you want to discuss next time. They appear when you plan a catch-up, on the Timeline, and on each friend's profile. Tick them off when you log. Long-press to edit or delete.
Remember the Little Things
Capture quotes, gift ideas, post-it notes, and memories so you can show up thoughtfully. Keep birthdays and important dates (milestones and reminders) in one list on each profile.
Plan and Log Catch-ups
When someone is due, pick a date and how you'll connect. Open agenda items carry into the plan. After you meet, log notes and photos, tick off what you covered, flag date-only follow-ups, and save a topic as a prayer point with one tap. Optionally add the plan to your calendar.
Insights
See who may need a nudge. Friends are grouped by rhythm (weekly through ad-hoc), with overdue listed first. Overdue and due-soon counts at the top. Collapsible sections for most-connected friends, six-month trends, and circles. No streaks, no scores.
Notifications
Reminders the day before a catch-up is due, alerts when you're overdue, and birthday notifications.
Prayer Guide (Optional)
Keep what to pray for next to the people it belongs to, plus a personal section for yourself or anyone you don't track in the app. Tick points off as you pray, walk through Prayer Mode, and message someone afterwards if they have a number on their profile. Mark a prayer as answered to keep it for encouragement, or delete it if you don't want it saved. Turn the whole tab off in Settings if you don't need it.
Contacts
Import names, photos, and birthdays from Apple Contacts. Refresh linked friends when details change. Read-only - your contact cards are never modified.
iCloud Sync (Optional)
Sync across iPhone, iPad, and Mac using your own iCloud account. Encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple; not separately end-to-end encrypted. Enable or disable anytime in Settings.
Mac
Native Mac app with a sidebar for Friends, Timeline, Prayer, Insights, and Settings. Same iCloud data and Koinonia Unlimited subscription.
