About

Kombucha Copilot guides you through homemade kombucha, from sweet tea to the fizzy bottle. You mark the start of a batch, every day the app reminds you to smell and taste it, you note how it is and it tells you when it's ready. Free, no ads, no account. CALENDAR AND DAILY CHECK • Mark the start of a batch, even on past days from the calendar, with litres, tea, sugar and starter: the suggested amounts are already worked out. • One notification a day at the time you choose: smell, taste, ready, burp the bottles, into the fridge. • Quick answer: too sweet, almost, just right, too vinegary. Plus the problems you noticed and a note. • Several batches at once and the history of past ones. READY AT THE RIGHT TIME, WITH THE TEMPERATURE WHERE YOU ARE • Maturing depends on temperature: the app takes the temperature where you are from Open-Meteo (free, no account), using your approximate location or a city you choose, and adjusts it for where the jar sits (indoors, cool room, outside). Without internet you use the temperature you type. • Warmer means fewer days: the estimate explains it in plain words. • It corrects itself with your tastings and learns from your past batches: if you like it more sour or sweeter, next time it tells you at the right moment. SECOND FERMENTATION RECIPES • Ginger and mint at the top, then lemon and ginger, strawberry and basil, mixed berries, apple and cinnamon, peach, pineapple and mint, plain; and your own recipes. • Amounts for your bottles (in total and per bottle) and the estimated time at today's temperature. THE ASSISTANT • Tips at the right moment: wash the jar before reusing it, cover it with a cloth held by a rubber band or clip (never an airtight lid in the first fermentation), don't move it, taste with a straw, keep the starter, burp the bottles, open slowly. • The most common problems explained: mould or white film, brown strands, sinking SCOBY, fruit flies, too vinegary or too sweet, not fizzy, over-pressurised bottles, cold and heat, metal, old kombucha as starter. SAFETY AND PRIVACY • Mould = throw it all away. Kombucha contains a little alcohol. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, for children or with health problems, ask a doctor first. • Kombucha Copilot is a guide and a log: it doesn't promise any health benefits and doesn't replace a doctor's advice. • No account, no ads, no analytics: everything stays on your phone. Open-Meteo only receives a location rounded to about 10 km (or the city you choose). • On iPhone the app also asks the App Store whether a new version is available. 8 languages: italiano, English, español, français, Deutsch, português, 中文, русский.
