Learning new words!

I love that the features like the random word generator and I really benefit from the multiple phrase examples using the word of the day.
That said, it’s kind of buggy. Looking at the calendar view, If I want to see a particular day’s word, I have to tap on the day before in order to see it. If I tap on yesterday’s date, I see today’s word, etc.

Fantastic App!

This is great for sentence practice! Thank you Tran Hoa! Removing the romanization would be nice though. Thank you for creating and sharing your app!

Fairly good so far but some bugs

Overall a very well experience even with the other word of the day apps. Minor bugs here and there throughout the different apps such as having to restart the app to get the new word of the day, daily notifications not working sometimes, and app notification badges not showing at all. Audio works even with phone on silent mode, characters and sentences are well, so far so good. Main things are just the minor bugs as mentioned before

Good

This app is pretty good if you are already familiar with the language. However, if not, you might want to double check that the words could be used as they are presented here, in a normal sentence. I would suggest HiNative for something like that. But, if you are just playing around with the language and just want it in your head, this can be useful to you as well. I like it so I can expand my horizon of various Korean nouns and words.

FAQ

What is Korean Word of the Day?

Korean Word of the Day is an application designed to help users expand their Korean vocabulary. It provides one challenging, academic, or obscure word each day, sourced from reputable dictionaries and exam materials. The app aims to improve understanding and memorization through examples, synonyms, and etymology.

What kind of vocabulary does the app offer?

The app focuses on academic, obscure, and challenging vocabulary. These words are often found in materials for native speakers and in preparation for exams like IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, and SAT. The goal is to introduce users to less common but sophisticated Korean words.

How does the app help with memorization?

Memorization is aided by providing simple examples of word usage, a variety of synonyms, and etymology for deeper understanding. The app also allows users to 'like' words they want to remember, creating a personalized list for review.

Can I get help with pronunciation?

Yes, the app offers pronunciation guides for every word. This feature helps users learn how to correctly pronounce the new vocabulary they encounter, further enhancing their language learning experience.

Is this app suitable for beginners?

While the app offers a daily word, the vocabulary selection is geared towards advanced learners and native speakers. Beginners might find the words too challenging. It is best suited for those looking to refine and expand their existing, more advanced Korean vocabulary.
