KORG GadgetをiPhoneで使って感じた4つの強烈なストレス

「iPhoneでサクサク作曲したい」と思ってKORG Gadget 2 Leを触ってみたのですが、正直なところ操作性の面でかなり苦戦しました。

音源の良さやプロレベルの作り込みができる点は素晴らしいのですが、「直感的に打ち込む」というスマホDAWとして最も重要な部分で、いくつもの仕様の罠が仕掛けられていました。

実際に使ってみて「これはちょっとどうなの？」と感じた4つの問題点をシェアします。

1. グリッドとスナップが別設定になっている罠
一番最初に引っかかったのがこれです。
普通のDAWなら「1/16にグリッドを設定」すれば、音符も勝手にそこへ吸い付いて（スナップして）くれますよね。しかしGadgetの場合、グリッドの表示（Functionメニュー）と、スナップ機能（Qボタン）が完全に別のスイッチになっています。
QボタンをONにし忘れると、グリッドが見えているのに中途半端な位置に音符が置かれてしまい、「なんでズレるの!?」と混乱すること必至です。クオンタイズは録音用だと思っている方はこの罠にハマります。

2. 音符を伸ばすときに指定のスナップが効かない
さらに厄介なのが音符の長さ調整です。
グリッドを1/16に設定してQボタンをONにしているのに、ドラッグして長さを変えようとすると、なぜかほぼフリードラッグ状態になってしまいます。（初期入力時でも後調整でも同じ）
音価を決める際はいちいち1/64くらい？で調整することを強いられます。時間の無駄であり本当にうざいです。

なんだろう……特に初期入力時にも音価を細かく指定できるようになってるのが、バカバカしくてたまりません。製作者は天才で最初から64分音符レベルで音価を想像できているのかもしれませんが、一般人はそうではないのです。

3. スマホの基本「長押しで詳細メニュー表示」が通じない
iOSアプリなら「不要なものは長押しやスワイプでメニューを出して消す」のが常識ですが、Gadgetにはそれができません。

ノートを複数消したい。こんな時どうしますか。まとめて選択は長押しして斜めに引っ張ればできそう→無理です。初手長押しは音価入力用なので不可能です。ちゃんと選択モードに切り替えましょう。

選択できました。じゃあ、選択範囲かノートを長押しすればメニューが出てきて削除→できません。わざわざ「画面角のFunctionボタンを押す →選択」という工程を強いられます。直感的な操作からは程遠い設計です。この部分はスマホアプリであることを失念していたのかもしれません。

4. 途中再生の判定が「3mm」しかない
Gadgetでは、ピアノロール上部にある極小の小節番号を「ダブルタップ」する必要があります。iPhone17の画面サイズだと、このタップ領域は実質縦3mm程度しかありません。
誤タップが起きやすく、確認作業のリズムが崩れます。ずれて下の方をタップするとピアノロールにノートが入力されてしまいダルいです。

そもそもよく使う再生ボタンを含め全てのボタンが小さいです。

まとめ：音色や機能は本当に素晴らしいのですが、iPhoneの縦画面で「頭の中のメロディをサクサク打ち込みたい」という用途であれば、Medlyなどの最初からスマホ操作に最適化されたアプリを選んだ方が、圧倒的にストレスなく作曲に集中できると感じました。

操作感良くしてもらっていいですかね……。

Kein Import von der Switch

Nun habe ich mir Korg Gadget für meine Nintendo Switch gekauft, im Manual steht, mit dieser App kann man über QR-Code die Songs von dort auslesen. Stimmt nicht, dafür muss man eine extra App kaufen. Das heißt, ich habe keine vernünftige Möglichkeit die Switch Songs z.B. in Videos einzubauen. Wieder mal Lehrgeld bezahlt, werde Korg in Zukunft meiden wie die Pest…

Velocity suxxx

Как настраивать Velocity? Они все в кучу сбиты, если пишешь ударные. Не выбрать нужный семпл. В связи с этим, считаю, что эта программа не функциональна. Есть моментики как использовать, но в целом это очень слабый продукт по юзабилити.

not working well with the Korg MIDI keyboard

When connected to the "Korg Microkey Air" MIDI keyboard, the output sound is much reduced. Why is that? The on-screen keyboard is at normal sound level but when connected to the Korg keyboard the sound level drops to very low. Can this be fixed?

Great but…

Great little app for sketching ideas out on the go. The “gadgets” are limited, but enough to get you started. My main concern is when you start a new project, it never asks you if you want to overwrite a previous one with the same name. I’ve found myself doing this three times already, so I have to go through all my saved files and be certain I’m not using the same name next time. Pretty annoying when other apps don’t behave this way.

Caught me again

Another app that I downloaded and the first thing I try I get the “upgrade to full version to get this”.
I have a very nice Korg MicroArranger and that meets my needs.
I don’t know why we keep falling for these scams. Get a hardware synth and have done with it. I have a Tyros 5, a mininova, an MX49 and the said Korg. I won’t download any more of these so-called synth apps.

Runs your battery down in background

I had this app for a few days and my phone started dying in the middle of the day. The battery settings app showed this app, which was not even being used accounted for 41% of my total battery drain. I deleted it

AUMアプリに入らない。

このアプリそのものはとても良いのですが他社になりますがAUM audio mixerに入らないです。
gadget2とかなら入るんでしょうか？
やり方があるなら教えて下さい。

Warp control and moving pitch levels reset bug

I saved and went back and the pitch was default so was warp and they weren’t moving anymore. I did it again and they were fine.
I did this earlier after working for a good 20 minutes on making a voice level and everything reset after creating another scene.

Noticed this error 3 times since the update

Clunky interface, no inter audio app

So frustrating there is no apparent way to export creations and it is not recognized as an inter audio app. Basically useless.

操作性が悪い

携帯電話の端末では使いにくいすぎる。誤タップが発生しすぎ。音符の長さを変えるのがどこをどうやればいいかわからないし、画面の拡大もできないし。ガレージバンドの足元にも及ばないレベル。
