Monotrons without the noise
I have owned all 3 monotrons, but am most familiar with the Delay. This app immediately captures the spirit and vibe of each monotron. The Deluxe model is cool because it essentially combines all 3 models and adds a few more features. What’s even cooler is you can create a sound using one of the monotron models, switch to Deluxe, and the sound you create will translate over so you can push that sound even further using the additional features of the Deluxe. This app is great if you want any or all of the monotrons without spending the money for the hardware, especially since you can’t buy the original one new anymore. Plus with this app, you can control all of them via midi, which means you can even play the Delay chromatically. I think for the price this app is completely worth it. There’s plenty of fun to be had with these synths. I honestly have no real complaint. Another great app from KQ!

Useful as effects
Fun to play with as synths, really nice quick and dirty delay to throw in an AUv3 effects chain too! I’ve never played with a real monotron but these seem like good imitations with better sound quality. Great fun!
"Toy" in the best sense - soooo much fun!
Have had more than my money's worth of good times in the first 10 minutes of firing this up, huge grin on my face and insanely happy. What a wonderful gem!

This is a super fun set of things for cheap. Definitely sounds like the devices it is modeled after but then has numerous additional abilities. happy purchase

Great little synth(s).. Bit of clone of the Korg but with the addition of midi control! Just run this with a sequencer and you’ll get more than your money’s worth ;)

Perfection, pretty close for digital.
The patch saving and deluxe with custom colors is the nicest! This is more than a toy its got midi learn and sounds sick not cheesy but i dig... a good cheesy, anyway your really killing it!
Who needs a monotron when you can have these?
While I never played the real thing, these things sound just as wild as what I heard in videos! The waves sound great and have little aliasing, and the filter is so squelchy. Try processing them through FX and make a track with them!

klein, aber oho! cool, glückwunsch! endlich eine klanglich gelungene umsetzung der kleinen qietschkommoden ins virtuelle. darauf warte ich schon ein weile. fast genauso spontan und intuitiv wie die originale. es gibt noch ein paar problemchen. einige touch zonen scheinen nicht ganz dort zu sein, wo das gui sie vermuten lässt, oder der bereich ist schlicht zu klein, das menü lässt sich nicht wieder einklappen (?), die resonanz führt im extremfall mal eben zum abschalten der audioausgabe... aber das sind sicherlich nur die kinderkrankheiten und war so schon anderswo gesehen. wer auf die kleinen korgkistchen steht und die schon immer mal virtuell einbinden wollte, voila! hier ist die gelegenheit. meinerseits volle punktzahl und ein dankeschön an den entwickler. ein spass mit suchtpotential. applaus!

Thanks for reviewing. In version 1.0.3, touches at the bottom screen edge is improved. Menu can be hidden by tapping a tab or swiping. Try reducing PEAK or setting FEEDBACK to zero when the sound does not stop or is silent. Delay is not turned off even if TIME is zero. Instead set FEEDBACK to zero.
Killer Synth Cheese
This is so cool. It creates lo fi cheesy synth sounds like toy synthesizers are supposed to. Except these are high quality lo fi synth sounds that when fed into a sequencer come out as completely legitimate killer synth tracks that don’t sound cheap but definitely sound lo fi and cheesy in the best possible way. Seriously rockin toy synth.

MonoTron series in AUv3
This essentially takes all three Korg Monotron and puts them into one very useful Audio Unit. The sound is really close to the hardware and midi parameters are exposed so I can control them with my NanoKontrol. This also works as an effect and is particularly cool with the Lo-fi “space” delay. I have found so many uses for it and it is becoming my goto for acid bass lines and sound fx. The price is so low you really cant miss with adding this to your AU collection. Well done.

Don’t believe the dev - more than just a toy!
Since I already have the excellent DX-alike KQ Dixie this was an instabuy for me, a version of the Korg style mini synths. BUT - and this is why this isn’t a toy - it’s AU with a fully open midi spec, so load it up in AUM, and let Rozeta’s LFOS and whatever you use for sequencing at it, and you have an incredible Lofi synth, with delay, a ribbon strip and other goodies custom built for soundscaping and drones for less than the price of half a pint. Bargain!
