Laid off Darya and withholds her severance after 27 years of work
I used to enjoy starting my morning with Kron 4 news, and really enjoyed Darya for the way she energized my morning. I just read in SFGate that they laid her off and refuses to pay her severance after 27 years of work, because they are planning to replace her with much cheaper labor.
I’ve stopped watching the station now and am disappointed in how they handled this.

Works sometimes
About a quarter of the time I’ll open the app and it just has a black screen. I keep opening and force closing it and it keeps doing it. It randomly just goes away too.
Another issue is the audio will come on even when my phone is on silent and I didn’t even push anything.
Other than that the news is good.

Used to be great
I’ve been a long time fan of KRON4 and often start with them for local Bay Area news. Something went sideways with their app, however, and I’m deleting it today. For the developers, local news is local news.. no personalization is needed. You get a lot of ad viewing as it was, but the popups now make this app pointless. When the local news company is insisting on tracking the viewers, I will choose to find the news elsewhere. Goodbye KRON4.

App cannot be casted to a TV
App works fine on its own but does not support casting through AirPlay or Chromecast. This is a big missing feature.
Much better news content KTVU Fox 2
I’ve been using the KTVU FOX 2 news app and watching their channel on TV for many years. One day, my kid pointed out to me, “Why are you watching this horrible news channel? All they talk about is killing, dying, and terrible stories.” That made me realize how negative the content had become. So, I recently decided to download the KRON news app, and I’ve noticed their coverage offers a much better variety — including positive stories, important updates, technology, and meaningful local news around the Bay Area. They focus on reality without overemphasizing violent crime like KTVU does. From now on, I won’t be watching KTVU news anymore.

The app for the main news is not working it just keeps on loading but hasn’t been working for days. Maybe it’s just me idk

What happened to the app? It used to work perfectly with an option to minimize the window so you can listen and watch the news while using the phone.. now the minimize option is gone and live stream stops for minutes so the app goes basically silent and I have to restart it… I hope they are able to fix this soon

Put the time back on the screen.
I watch the new for the weather, traffic updates and to keep track of the time. I love watching KRON 4 news. The only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars is literally the fact that that they removed the time from the tv screen.

Does not work for iPhone mini
The latest update that asks for notification preferences does not work on an iPhone mini. The notifications preference page is too large for the screen so you cannot hit “continue” and get out of the notifications screen to get back into the latest news page.

My kron 4 news app froze up and it is really annoying and it really needs to get fixed right now
Same complaint as everyone else
I just want to quietly read the local news, but the app constantly opens videos without being prompted to do so. The video opens and even if you close out the video, the sound of the video keeps playing and the only way to stop it is to either close the app or turn the phone volume all the way down. This is incredibly annoying when you just want to read some news. I wish the developers cared about this, but it appears they don’t.

Horrible auto play commercials
I have turned off the auto play of videos in the settings and they still turn on. Is this a way to for the app to get money from ads? They won’t stop playing. A truly horrible experience and they have the most articles locally. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app to no avail. Until the auto play of videos is fixed, definitely a 1 star or less (if I could) app.
