Was initially great. Downloaded maps, but the failed day 1 of our trip. Wouldn’t open. Tried to reload whilst in Kruger and back in UK. Nothing

We have just returned to the UK after 11 nights in the Kruger. I found this app really useful for navigating the loop roads (I downloaded the live location map before we left). The loop roads can be quite confusing when using the park maps, but this app made it so easy. I also loved how it gave more detailed descriptions of the camps and accommodation- much more detail than on the San Parks website. I need an app like this for Etosha next… thank you!! :-)

I’ve tried other apps for exploring Kruger and they were basically a waste of time and money. This one does exactly what I want - Nice job!

Great app for your Kruger safari
I used this app to track and get details about any critter I saw in the park. A wonderful resource that works offline and keeps your sightings consolidated and accessible. Had an issue where the app stopped opening but a quick email to the developer got me up and running again with no issue. Great tool for your visit to Kruger and likely mostly applicable in most of Africa.

This app is a must for anyone travelling in the KNP.
Makes things easier in most areas.
I am however not able to open the app over the past 6 days I see the Home Screen and then it disappears and I am back on my phones Home Screen.

Great When It Works
While it worked, this app was great - it was useful for route guidance, maps, animal info, and tracking sightings; however, it started crashing right after opening the app halfway through my trip and was unusable. I tried restarting my phone, force quitting the app, etc, but nothing worked. There also was not enough cell service or wifi in the middle of the park to try deleting and reinstalling the app, so overall I can’t recommend it or say it’s worth the money.

Highly recommended, this App pretty much gives you all you need for a trip to Kruger. Maps are excellent for planning ahead and the animal spotting is sufficient for most. Great value.
Great resource and service
As a lover of all things Kruger, I open this app almost every day - to look at facts about animals I’ve seen, figure out routes in the park, learn something new, and generally just think about my favorite place! Recently we had some trouble with the app, reached out and got a quick response. Our issue had nothing to do with the app, instead it was a technology issue. The dedicated team at Kruger Explorer understood our problem and walked us through the solution even though it had nothing to do with them or their product. Best customer service I’ve seen in a long time!

It’s just an expensive blog
Most of this information is accessible on Google. Except here you pay $12 + for paragraph upon paragraph upon paragraph. An app that needs a paragraph of “how to use” for every landing page is not a user friendly app. I still don’t know where to find the elephant spots or lion spots or the best times. Which time of year which animal migrates to. I guess I have to read this novel of an app first. Something I could have continued to do on Google for free. Don’t recommend. Just google

Sorry to hear you haven't enjoyed the app but I'm afraid much of your feedback is not fair or accurate - Kruger National Park is the size of a small country (and larger than several US States) so it is natural that a guide to the park that is unprecedented in its scope contains lots of information along with guidance on how to get the most out of it. Apple themselves kindly featured us as 'App of the Day' commenting on how user-friendly and informative the app is. Google categorically does not give anyone access to our years of first-hand experience in the park that we share in this app. Regarding the best lion spots, you can just search for 'Lion' and scroll down to 'Where to find them' in a couple of seconds and find a bullet point list alongside more detailed commentary. While we do not expect the app or even Kruger to be for everyone, this is a serious guide with information about all 3,500km of road, every waterhole and region of the park, every mammal and bird (including migration patterns) ever recorded in the park with thousands of stunning photographic images and bird audio files, and lots of other detail that helps people plan a trip that will deliver memories that last for a lifetime. I found the app brilliant for planning routes around Kruger and identifying animals and when I hit a problem with it, Danny (the joint owner of the production team) responded immediately and in great detail. I have never received better app support. If you are thinking of a visit to South Africa you could not do better than this informative and easy to navigate app.

Doesn’t load after the first time
I bought the app. Used it once and now it won’t open and I can’t reliad it or get help
Virtual Safari Guide!
Whether it’s your first safari or you’re returning to Kruger National Park for another visit, the Kruger Explorer app will take a lot of the guesswork out of planning your safari and function as your virtual guide throughout your adventure! The content is superb and easy to navigate. I appreciate the bottom-up approach to first understanding the land and how a particular habitat supports wildlife. The content is what one would expect from a professional wildlife guide including tons of fun facts and information on which routes in Kruger will improve the likelihood of viewing a given species. I’ve enjoyed referencing the animal profiles to learn more about the species I photographed during my first visit to Kruger in May 2019 and found the app invaluable in planning a 39-day, self-guided safari in October 2019. I highly recommend the Kruger Explorer app!

An amazing App & so easy to use!
I downloaded this app a month before our trip to Kruger from the UK. It’s so informative & quick & easy to use. We normally carry so many different identification & map books. The photos are all fantastic & it makes identifying birds so much as easier as it only shows birds in KNP. I 100% recommend Kruger explore!

We couldn’t have done Kruger without it
This was our first trip to Kruger NP and I couldn’t imagine our trip without this app. Highly, highly recommend. It’s worth the $12 for the high resolution and easy to use maps section alone! We loved the sightings tracker and made a routine of logging our daily sightings over dinner each night. A must have for any trip to Kruger, particularly for novices like us.

This app gives one an illustrated virtual tour of the Kruger National park in South Africa, or a real information brochure if one is visiting in person. The Kruger Park must be the best place to see all the fascinating African animals. This app provides all the information one needs to make this an unforgettable tour. I know, because I have been there many times in person.
