this app used to be something I looked at so many times every day, especially for the earthquakes
But since they changed the format
The earthquakes don't work
When they show up, they won't tell you where they are
I don't know why I have to push buttons to make separate apps
My weather progress video that you push play to watch how everything plays out on the map in the future
Is stuck at the end and now I just get what's already happened
That's been broken for a couple of weeks
So basically an app that was my top favorite is completely useless
I called them. I told them. Nothing has changed.
It's sad because weather and earthquakes were a part of my every day and there is nothing that matches what this app was
I don't care for the new News app or this app a shame because what they had worked just fine

New Earthquake Map
The development team has rendered the earthquake feature useless by illustrating all the quakes in the same size. Whereas you easily distinguish between the large, potentially damaging quakes and the hundreds of small shakers we Alaskans get every day. Boo! No one to even complain to. Boo Boo!

Horrible ads
The whole Alaska news app. Has bad ads. In the weather,the news all throughout the app. Here’s an example: These cars are for Seniors. What baloney. All throughout the app are ads that are just Poo. I am trying to be nice with my review of this app. Please someone how has a clue. Look at the ads that you run in the app.

Can’t Look at What I want Without It Taking Me to Something I didn’t Ask For
Don’t Download. Once you open the app you can go just so far into the weather report before it sends you to a page with videos of the forecast that you don’t ask for. I’m deleting it from my phone
Accuracy?
The current weather tab shows 7° which is pretty accurate but the Hourly tab shows 20° plus as does the Daily tab. Is there not a connection between them? Doesn’t seem to be.
Unable to access the weather report itself
Used to be able to click on the weather report to watch that and get news and live broadcast. Now when I click on it I get a blank page.

I follow this weather app because it has the most accurate weather forecasts. I also like the weather updates.

I have lived on Prince of wales since 1971 and being an Alaskan resident watching Alaska weather and being able to see what's coming allows myself and my family to get prepared for what's coming weather wise.
This is important due to fact our water supply is raincatch and our home is still in process of being fully insulated so we can make sure we have fuel for stoves, firewood for wood stoves and gas for our emergency generators.

This app may be good if you live in the Anchorage area, but not so much anywhere else.
I selected notification for my area - Seward. I got plenty for Anchorage, none for Seward. Last winter the NWS issued many winter weather advisories that I received on another app. This app sent zero. No point in keeping it.
The voice notifications in the early morning hours is beyond annoying.

I use it for work, does fine.
My company has me work outside everyday, Im a rare case. So i want to know the weather forecast, this ktuu app has performed just fine. Thank you very much.

Will be changing weather apps. We are tired of the hateful, divisive “survey” ads all the time!

On your tv ad it’s said that there’s also an earthquake “tracker” included, but I can’t find it in the app.
No Sound on video
This app would be okay if it worked. The commercials play loud and clear but the actual weather forecast videos drop the sound EVERY TIME.
As for the rest of the app; it’s basic. It gives the information needed. Nothing fancy but not looking for a complicated app either.
