Scam
Signed up to try for $1 for a week, month, don’t recall anymore but doesn’t matter because I cancelled the next day… except they didn’t make it easy to cancel, so had to email them to do it. Got charged for full amount the next month anyway. Complained. Have yet to be refunded.
Local newspaper
I like the access to local news but tend to go to the li sl tv station apps to learn more about breaking news. My big beef is the payment system. My card works fine and then they say it did not go through due to wrong expiration date. It worked well for a year and suddenly it is the wrong expiration date? The date has not changed but they did something and now I have to deal with it again.

Still Bad
Looks like this was bad five years ago…and it still is! Very glitchy, crashes, freezes up. When we called the paper they told us it was our internet service. Just cannot imagine how internet service that can support the New York Times and the Washington Post isn’t good enough for this small town paper lol. We just cancelled our subscription.

Truly terrible
It’s clear this app is not well supported nor do they have A-level talent (or B for that matter) working on it. It’s a shame considering local journalism will be going online more and more in coming years. As a paying subscriber, please invest in this app.
Doesn’t work
Starting two weeks ago the IOS on my iPad app displays pretty pictures, but every time you click to actually read the article it fails with a no content available message. I sent a message to the Tribune about the problem, but nothing has changed. The Android version is still working.
Good but needs to be better
Like this app but the notifications have stopped working. If that is corrected I will give this review more stars.

Sometimes I can comment on a story - most of the time not.

Blaring Video Ads, Lack of Organization, and Old Storiesd
Ads, including long, loud video pop up frequently while scrolling through or reading stories. It is obnoxious. The layout of the app is not well organized. Oftentimes stories are not updated and the same newsfeed is in the latest section for days. Most recently there are stories in multiple. Not much local news. A lot of AP stories from all over. Lacking in local content and coverage. Sometimes inappropriate ads at the bottom of the screen. Latest version with pop up ads causes the app to crash frequently.

Full-screen auto-playing video ads
Thanks for taking over the screen to loudly play an advertisement (in the middle of reading an article) while I was reading next to my sleeping toddler. Luckily I'm fast with the home button.
Use the Web instead
I prefer to read online content much better on the web. Ads hijack the screen in the current edition. Oftentimes, these ads include video which will play and I am in what should be a quiet location.
App crashing?
Why is this app all of a sudden crashing/shutting down when reading? Just started yesterday. After uninstall/re-install it will allow reading of 1 article. After closing & opening later, it goes back to shutting down??
Premium Content
I regret updating this app to its current version as the Obituaries are now considered Premium Content. I find it odd that the articles that the Tribunes paid staff produce are still accessible at no charge, yet the content produced by the recently deceased and their families costs extra. I hope the Trib will reconsider.

Used to be able to read the obituaries now u can't so this app needs to be changed or I can delete it !
Little buggy
Would be nice if the share feature worked right. I wanted to share a story with a friend via email and I couldn't get out of the screen to send it. Mayo ads that pop up are very annoying. Multiple entry's with same story is very odd too.

love getting my news every where I go, and especially love that the stories download so that I can read them no matter what.

Why all the duplicate stories?
Seems like less content than the real paper and the same stories are repeated over and over in the news feed...very annoying. The classifieds, weekly ads, deals, and weather sections are a waste of space. Otherwise app layout and design are nice.
