Good idea but not that useful yet
A mobile app of Labguru will be really helpful longterm to look up experiments on the go or to check protocols online instead of having to print these for the lab.
But the app is not there yet. Protocols already written on Labguru are not compatible. SOPs are not shown at all. They can’t even be loaded in a simple view mode. You would have to rewrite every single protocol. And so far, it accepts only the most basic ones.
The sample stock feature only works, if you use barcodes or if you know the ID number that is automatically assigned in Labguru. But if you want to check, where to find a specific sample without knowing this, it’s not working. The search field only accepts numbers.
The only working function of the app is the upload pictures part, which is very useful indeed. Just take a photo of handwritten notes and upload it to labguru.
I hope the app will be better connected to Labguru in the future. It definitely has potential.
