Agree with other reviewers, it would be great to have a bulk buy price, like with cryptograms. You can buy several packages at once for a few dollars off.
Glitchy and poor formatting
I like the concept of this game and enjoy playing it when it works, but it’s extremely glitchy and the titles don’t show up correctly on my phone. So many puzzles I just can’t finish because if I leave them and come back my answers are deleted or messed up. I paid an extra couple dollars for an expansion pack and I can’t even finish it. Very irritating. if they fixed it I would love to keep playing.

Please provide a means to reset an entire Book of puzzles at once rather than having to reset each individual puzzle within a Book.

New favorite app
I’m enjoying playing this great app. I’m unsure if I’d buy those packs because of high costs. It’d be great there’d be discount price for buying five packs including future packs I’d like to see free daily puzzles as we may play everyday.
Missing puzzles
I love this game but I purchased the first pack and never received the puzzle pack! I tried deleting and restoring purchase but nothing. I tried emailing through app and can’t. Very disappointed! Want my money back or the puzzles I purchased

Can’t buy new puzzles
Like the app a lot, but it won’t allow you to purchase the puzzle packs. Kind of renders it useless. Hope they fix the proble.

Does not fit the screen/cannot buy new packs
I really enjoyed the sample levels. However a few issues. One problem is that I cannot see the top of the screen. I am on an iPhone XR and the header of the puzzle is cut off. I could deal with this, but I cannot actually buy any new packs. Every time it says it cannot connect to internet. I’ve deleted and redownloaded but to no avail. I’m disappointed because I really like the premise of this app and I cannot find anything similar on the App Store :( Please help me, I really want to do the puzzles. I would love to rate this app five stars but I want to get the developer’s attention. I’m very sad.

Our server problem has been resolved, so you should be able to purchase additional packs now. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the sample puzzles, though the problems you cite cause less delight. :-( The cut-off header is new to us. We've tested on the iPhone XR without issues, so we'd appreciate it if you'd send a screenshot to support@digitalglen.com to help us understand the problem.
Missing puzzles
I have purchased several packets. Usually two or three of the puzzles do not work. The last batch had six bad puzzles . I don’t think I am going to buy another package

I'm sorry you've been having problems! If you'll please send an email from within the app in the Settings page, it will let me know what device you're using, and which versions of the app and IOS. Thank you. In the meantime, you might try deleting the app, reinstalling, then choose Restore Purchases, also within the app's Settings.

I really enjoy the App. However, I’m running out of books to purchase. I hope more come along soon. :-)
Fun but very overpriced
There’s no way I would pay so much ($12!) for every single puzzle. Not when an entire hours or weeks -long game could be bought at that price.

These puzzles are well done —- fun, clever, challenging.

I love this original game, and the developers are awesome. I asked for more games for one of their other apps and they said they’re working on it. I like their clues. Some are hard so I ping pong around the puzzles. Glad they are saved. Like the side two word puzzle too. Figuring that out is helpful.
Also, my fav about their apps is that the hint button is on the keyboard so you don’t have to go through menus to get a hint. Just gotta use some self-control.
Re: someone’s complaint of only having a few demo puzzles... I have to say that I rarely buy in-app puzzles. Five was enough to get me.... I agree that 10 would probably make people happier. And a whole pack would be awesome. But I wonder how many people would buy more? Hmm. Packs are kinda expensive but give me a lot of game play. Plus I never remember all of the prev puzzles and can replay after awhile. Just saying...

I love Laddergrams and so I downloaded this without bothering to look at reviews.
This apps downfall? This isn't one of those games where they give you, like, 20 free puzzles. They give you 5. FIVE. Not even 10! F. I. V. E.
Now I'm not an unreasonable person. I believe devs should be paid for the work they put into making apps, but really? I'd rather have paid for all the puzzles once for, like, $2-3, which I mean I can do per puzzle pack within the app in its current iteration, but this stinginess turned me off SO much.
What is the point of even giving any free puzzles at all if you're just going to give 5? Most games that allow you to purchase additional content give you at least one pack that has as much content as one paid pack. Eg: Episodic games will give you at least 1 free episode, A game that sells 25 puzzles per pack will give you at least 25 free puzzles
It's borderline deceptive to list this as a free puzzle if only, like, 3% of total game content is actually free. That's super misleading. If you're going to keep this apps idiotic payment model, then you should CLEARLY label this game as a demo, or "lite."

I appreciate that you took the time and trouble to write this review, but regret that you didn't accompany your critique of the payment model with comments on the quality of the app and puzzles themselves. The free games give players a chance to judge for themselves whether the app and puzzles are worth paying for. Many players think they are, but you don't, though from your review it remains unclear why.
Comfort Food for Gray Matter!
These games are a flashback to nearly 60 years ago, sitting at my mother's knee as she helped me figure out the Laddergrams in Dell magazines. These are just as clever - the puns are great and bring a giggle when solved. Have tried to limit myself to one or two games a day so that they'll last longer but they're just too fun. Instead I've gone back and erased the answers so that I can play them again.
Also want to mention the superb customer service provided. I had occasion to email with a concern and received a response almost immediately (from a human being; not a form letter!) And the follow-up emails were timely and appreciated. Thank you, John. This is chicken soup for my aging brain.

Not bad....but
.....Quite expensive for how many puzzles you get (25) & the short time it takes to finish them.
