About

LakeMap is the offline chart plotter for Swiss lakes: 22 surveyed lakes with official bathymetry (swisstopo swissBATHY3D) ship inside the app — depth contours, depth shading, seamarks and marinas all work with no connection at all. THE DIFFERENCE: DEPTHS FROM THE LIVE LAKE LEVEL Ordinary charts show depths against a fixed datum. LakeMap computes with the current water level (Swiss federal gauges, FOEN): the depth you see is today's depth — at low autumn levels just as after snowmelt. PREDICTIVE SHALLOW-WATER ALERTS The app projects your course 60 seconds ahead and warns in four tiers before the bottom comes up, with distinct alert tones. Unsurveyed water is treated as a hazard: zones without depth data render violet and raise their own alert tier instead of falsely looking safe. CHART & NAVIGATION • Depth contours and bands from swisstopo swissBATHY3D • Seamarks and buoys, harbours and marinas (OpenStreetMap) • Own position with smoothed course and speed (COG/SOG) • Depth readout under your boat • Automatic lake detection WEATHER & STORM WARNINGS Hourly wind and gust forecast per lake (MeteoSwiss ICON models), cached offline with visible age. Cues at the official Swiss storm-warning thresholds (strong wind from 25 kn, storm from 33 kn) plus official warnings for your lake. THE LAKES Lake Zurich, Lake Constance, Lake Lucerne, Lake Thun, Lake Brienz, Lake Biel, Lake Neuchâtel, Lake Murten, Lake Geneva, Walensee, Lake Zug, Lago Maggiore, Hallwilersee, Ägerisee, Baldeggersee, Sempachersee, Sarnersee, Lac de Joux, Silsersee, Silvaplanersee, Lungernsee, Rotsee, Greifensee, Pfäffikersee, Lake Lugano, Sihlsee, Lac de la Gruyère, Schiffenensee, Wägitalersee, Wohlensee, Klöntalersee, Lago di Poschiavo, Lauerzersee. What's New in LakeMap

1.0.9

September 5, 2026

• 11 new lakes: Greifensee, Pfäffikersee, Lake Lugano, Lago di Poschiavo, Lauerzersee and the reservoirs Sihlsee, Lac de la Gruyère, Schiffenensee, Wägitalersee, Wohlensee and Klöntalersee. Their floors come from national-map depth contours (no sonar survey), so they are marked as orientation charts; reservoirs also flag their swinging level, which you set manually. • Lake Lugano gets its live level from the BAFU gauge at Melide. • Perspective view: the compass button now cycles north-up → course-up → tilted 3D view. • Search covers every lake: harbours and services from all installed charts, each with its distance from the boat or the map centre. • Faster first position: the boat shows immediately from the first coarse fix and sharpens as GPS settles. • Smarter opening view: the chart opens on your last position, or on Lake Zurich when you are far from the lakes. • Level and wind chips stay visible within 5 km of a lake, so conditions can be checked from the harbour or the road; between two lakes the nearer shore decides. • Refreshed depth contours for all lakes.
