Review for new update

So can you make a new update like where you can make the grid size like in touchchat was your first app before this app so can you make something you can do green or touchchat message color bar for the update date do 2025 September 1 ok? I hope you get this Review

Great app

My son has been using this app for 3 or 4 years now. We as a family love it over all. He’s able to get his message across. Plus I’ve been able to customize it as we go.
But now that it’s available for the iPhone, it will be much easier on us especially when away from home. We won’t have to carry his iPad EVERY where.

New Icon??

It cannot be lost on you that your program is often used by people who are on the autism spectrum. Why would you change the icon??

My son has been using lamp for eight years and now the poor kid can’t find it with visual recognition to use it as needed. Could you please change the icon back?

Thank you for your feedback. The refresh of the LAMP Words for Life® (WFL) app icon was thoughtfully considered. Apps and the use of the iPad® have undergone many transitions since LAMP WFL released in 2012. The LAMP WFL icon was modernized to better reflect the app’s functionality – while the “L” shape represents “LAMP”, it also symbolizes the motor planning foundation of the vocabulary. This change aligns with company branding and follows Apple®’s best practices for icon creation to ensure optimal usability and accessibility. The original app icon colors are not considered accessible for someone who may have vision issues. It’s okay

It serves its purpose, but does have a lot of glitch problems. Slows down the iPad, and doesn’t always stay configured properly. For the price you pay for it, there should be more updates and fixes to issues that are annoying and could be fixed easily on the developers part.

So can you make a new update like where you can make the grid size big or small or something like that and a like you can change the delete button size like in touchchat and change the button size too in touchchat I hope you get this!

The best!!!!

So when my parents got this app I was so excited and I thought about I would just added more words like food words so I was just happy about it but I have to use it if I’m upset but best app!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

option to use keyboard

I prefer using the iOS keyboard. Please make this an option.

Hi there. You are able to use the iOS keyboard by creating a button with the action of "system keyboard". When you tap that button, it will bring up the iOS keyboard.

EXTREMELY UNFAIR

Once you paid for an app, that should be it! Users should NOT be penalized for needing to remove an app and reinstall it again! That is robbery!!!!

I enjoy using LAMP, but I WILL NOT TOLERATE being billed every time I reinstall it!

Hi there. You should not be billed every time you reinstall it. Once it is tied to your Apple ID, you can download on any device you own using that same Apple ID or through Family Sharing. We encourage you to reach out to Apple if you were charged more than once.

I am so excited that this app is now available on an iPhone. My daughter is going to use it so much more now! I have always understood PRCs contention that some who use AAC couldn’t manipulate a small device — like a phone — but for some, my daughter included, it’s the preferred device. Thank you PRC for finally providing the flexibility for iPhone use!

Have to rebuy?

My family purchased lamp years ago. When I found out it was available for the iPhone I went to install it and it wants another $400. VERY DISAPPOINTED

You do not have to repurchase to add it to your phone. You can simply download from your "Purchased Apps" if you are using the same Apple ID. If you are using a different Apple ID, you can Family Share to the iPhone Apple account.

The Spanish option is ugly

We bought this app for recommendation of our son therapist and we have to say that he loves it but one of the things we like the most before buy it was the fact that it’s “bilingual “ and he can practice his Spanish along with English because we speak Spanish more of the time at home. In this point we are very disappointed, the Spanish voice is ugly and the pronunciation is totally wrong with more of the words, they basically used a robot voice and in our opinion that is something unacceptable for an app it costs 300 dollars.

Thank you for your feedback. Please verify you have selected a Spanish voice from the Settings Menu. You are able to set a primary and secondary voice. Your primary voice should be a Spanish voice and your secondary voice should be an English voice. This ensures that the correct voice is being used in the correct language.

Word prediction not working

At some point today the word prediction feature stopped working on both iPads we have this app installed on. The settings are all correct and no changes were made. Is this the result of an update? If so PLEASE FIX!! It’s a crucial feature in my daughter’s usage of the app!

Not compatible with iPhone

Please make this compatible with iPhone. Many times it is desperately needed when traveling or in a pinch.

Can’t save settings

This app is fine except that our settings can’t be saved so anytime our child accidentally deletes the app or changes layout we have to re-set the entire layout manually. So currently we have to take a screenshot of the current layout for these moments. Would be great if we could save our settings/layout

No receipt for purchase

Our insurance will only cover if we bought first. But, we weren’t sent a receipt for payment so I can’t get reimbursed from insurance

Hi there. You would have to contact Apple for the receipt as all transactions are handled through Apple.

Lag time

Great app when it works…however there is a lag problem in the app that causes too much time in between pushing a button and then the voice speaking the word button or to go to a new screen. I can’t seem to find any way to contact the developer to fix the problem. The link to report problem takes user to an error page.

Very Frustrated Today

It seems as though the app settings and customizations do not backup with iCloud backup.

Grabbed my sons device today for school and noticed the app had disappeared off the iPad (weird because it’s always in guided access to prevent things like that happening). Reinstalled the app and none of our custom buttons/icons were there. I restored the iPad from a previous cloud back up and still the app was back to original status. We lost months of custom button and phrase building because we thought the iCloud backup would protect us against lost data.

Incredibly frustrating and disheartening, my wife was almost in tears. Please make the app settings and customizations backup with iCloud backup. Just for piece of mind.

We are sorry this happened to you. Your custom vocabs will backup to iCloud as long as you have LAMP WFL enabled in your iCloud backup in the device settings. To restore, you would reset the iPad and restore from a backup.

Great AAC

Great app. My nonverbal autistic son now has a voice, he’ll even study the app on his own. Also there is plenty of room to add new words and to customize it to your child.
