Unusable for $29

I couldn’t even use any of the effects. Whenever trying to use any effect, it fails to download them. Absolutely nothing worked. Never had an issue similar to this with any other app.

"Can't find lights"

Thanks for taking my money, but not delivering :/

Amazing!

The best! Wish so much I had the locked features but there’s so much great light settings available without it!

I love this

This has taken my new smart light hobby (obsession) to a whole new level. I very rarely write reviews but this one deserves it. It is well thought out and well put together. It is a lot of fun and my smart light visions are now a reality. My first thought is that this probably wouldn't be for a “casual” smart light dabbler, but actually I think it may be perfect for those kind of users as well. You can make things look real impressive without having to put all of the hours into programming and set up that I did. So I say go for it. I have checked around and there is absolutely nothing better.

Thanks!

Cool Features, Meh Execution

When first downloaded all of the features and functionality were exciting to explore. The UI is super clunky, not intuitive or responsive at all. Fix that and you can have my money but right now not paying for it.

App has become slow and unresponsive

Great app, when it works! And lately it doesn’t.

Long startup times which is unacceptable on a flagship iPhone. Once it starts, constant messages that the app is getting your scenes ready all the time now. Starting a new scene takes several minutes, leaving you in the dark.

All of this needs fixing pronto for your subscribers.

No more updates?

The app as it is … is pretty solid. There are some lighting effects you won’t find in any other app.

My big concern is however there haven’t been any updates to the app in 9 plus months and counting … description says there would be updates for the subscription we pay and new scenes etc, however that seems to have stopped. Was being updated with fixes at least monthly.

Developer are you still active or did this app become abandoned?

Worked for 15 lights but not for more

I liked the app and expected it to be fine when I upgraded to the plan with more than 15 lights but it couldn’t seem to handle it, it always defaulted back to only 15 lights. Uninstalled and reinstalled, restored purchase etc. 15 lights, only 15 lights. Unfortunate because it’s a cool app.

No way to turn routines off

Please be aware that there’s no intuitive way to turn light routines off. I have been trying for weeks to remove some light routines that take place whenever my front lights come on. Even uninstalling the product doesn’t remove the routine. Stopping and removing the routine when it shows up only works until the next day. I’ve tried various times contacting support about this issue and they have not replied.
All I can think of doing next is to reset my Hue bridge to factory settings, but then I’ll have to add all of my lights over again.
The app is messy, unorganized and not user friendly.

Overpriced Garbage

Setup instructions are pretty much non existent. “Connect the bridge to WiFi.” How? Okay, there is an Ethernet plug. Guess I should connect it to the router. “Does the bridge have the latest firmware?” How should I know? How would I update it? Alright, I can connect to it now. “No lights found.” (Tap on X to close message.) “No bridge found.” Really??? Google for how to fix. “Make sure lights are kind that can connect to bridge.” Well that’s what got me here because I realized I needed one after buying them. “Set up manually.” How? The only thing I can do with the app is connect to the bridge so it can tell me it can’t find any lights. This was a big waste of time and money. And now I have two very disappointed kids to add to the headache I will get returning this trash.

A must have for Phillips Hue

Hands-down probably one of the best Hue light control apps in the Apple store. The ability to spatially position the lights in a room makes all the difference. Unfortunately that is a little time-consuming and it would be ideal if the designer could utilize the iOS device’s camera to recognize and plot the bulbs in a room much like the twinkly light app does for Christmas tree lights. One of the great features is that the app draws audio directly from Spotify and Apple Music. It would be nice if you could also have the lights sync to audio tracks played from the sounds in a room via the iOS mic. This would overcome the hurdles of partnership with the various music streaming services or if you just simply wanted to use your local radio station. But other than those minor things this app is stellar! If you have a Phillips Hue lighting system, you need this app!!

Good App that Can Easily Be Great

What I love most about this app are the impressive scenes. When they do update with news ones I always find a new favorite and they really do help when changing vibes from relaxed to upbeat to when we were living in the BC era (Before Covid) it made entertaining a lot of fun.

I’m not sure if it’s just me but it always causes my phone to freeze when music is being synced. And I would really love it if the app could integrate with other devices such Alexa or chrome cast etc etc. instead I often have to delete the app and abandon syncing music to it.

Money grab attempt

Money grab.

Was a FANTASTIC APP before the iOS update

This Avenue no longer works since I updated to the new iOS. Ever since then my Phillips hue brakes cannot be located and the app takes forever to load. Also there are never any updates or new scenes created for this app like other apps that give a new seen every week or every month at least. We are paying a fee to use the south so we would expect a little bit more than the standard things that come with it. Something every week or every month to make us more excited to use the app and want to continue to purchase A subscription to use this app would be great

Best dynamic lighting app, worth the sub

Great app for dynamic mood lighting. It has improved significantly since launch and I appreciate the frequent updates. Still plenty of room for improvement regarding UI/UX especially. Content updates are fun and frequent. Not really tried the audio element of it, generally prefer my own jams 💃

Garbage

This app is garbage. I tried a scene, and it uses all my lights. I have both color and white. So I went to Enable Lamps to chose my lights. Turned off all the pesky white bulbs and hit save. Next thing I know all of my color lights are out and all my white lights are on. I messed with it for ten minutes and couldn’t figure out why it just did the opposite of what I wanted. No matter what I did I couldn’t get it to work. This app was probably thrown together and didn’t spend enough time in R&D.

Great App for Phillips Hue Owners

Easy to use. Easy to setup. 3D space is a feature you won’t find on other apps. It really makes the experience more immersive. My one dislike is that sometimes I just want lights only and a lot of their scenes or the ones I gravitate towards always has a music track. I highly recommend.

Battery Destroyer

The lighting effects are nice. The way it uses battery in the background is not. For example, yesterday night Lamptier drained 30% of my iPad Pro battery and 36% of my iPhone X battery over 17 hours during which it was not being used. No lighting effects were being displayed, but it kept slaughtering battery in the background. So make sure you force quit it when you’re done. A few other improvements I’d like to see: the interface is pretty but poorly designed from a functional standpoint. There are also way more scenes with soundtracks than without, and it would be nice to be able to run some more without playing any music.

Awesome app. Seriously lacking in control options.

This app is wonderful in what it achieves. The lighting scenes are beautiful.
Operating the app is non-intuitive for 2/3rds of my family and none of my visiting friends could decipher it - many already have philips hue.

Once you active one if the beautiful scenes you can only stop it with the app. There is no integration with anything that would make it easier to activate or deactivate.
No ifttt, no siri shortcuts, no alexa, no google home, nada.

I mailed the developer and the response was: many hurdles to overcome, functionality will improve over time, etc etc.

While I accept that, but this is a premium product and I would dare to suggest that this will become a relic if not updated.

To prove my point it is not even possible to switch your lights off with a Hue switch or button once activated by lamptier - you have to open the app.
