No Followers/Following Lists
I downloaded Landing a few weeks ago after being recommended the app by a friend. Since then, I’ve enjoyed it greatly. Creating boards, selecting images, and navigating spaces have all been very smooth and simple processes. However, there is one function unavailable in the app that creates some difficulty: a lack of followers and following lists. Other than the ability to see how many followers you have and digging through your Notification Center, there is no way of seeing who follows you. As for your following list, there is no way of accessing that at all. Other than that and some glitchiness, this app is great.

They deleted all my stuff
I am so upset right now. I used to really love this app but one day it randomly signed me out. When I logged back in, all of my designs were completely gone and unrecoverable. I’m not sure how this happened. I still have all my old followers but all of my creations and archives are gone. I put so much work into those and used it for a lot of my work as well. I’m not sure if they advertise that when they log you out, that you lose all of your work but I’m unhappy right now as I haven’t seen anything about this on their app. Really a bummer and I’ll go back to using my other apps for collages.

Prone to crashing.
Love the app & the community, it’s great for junk journal artists & collage artists alike. However, the app is prone to crashing & doesn’t always save your progress well (and the only way to save manually is to exit the piece you’re working on). This is worsened if the app needs an update & unfortunately there is no notification system when you open Landing that lets you know it’s time for an update. Been working on a piece for two hours, the app has crashed at least 4 times & this last time I lost over an hour of work. Turns out it was time for an update, but how would I have known unless I checked for an update every time I went to open the app?

love love love this
I don’t think I’ve left an app review in at least 10 years. Found this app through Instagram reels. Absolutely love everything I’ve encountered so far. It is so easy to use, has high quality images and an abundance of them, and it’s enjoyable to be able to engage with others and their art. I feel like this app relit a creative flame in me. I haven’t explored every aspect of the app yet (the “spaces” function, the search other boards function, etc.) but I haven’t been able to put it down lately either! Really looking forward to seeing it take off.

Pretty OK; accessibility would help a lot
I’ve been fiddling with it for a few hours now and it’s rather simple to use. I am finding myself a bit frustrated with the limited text options, though. While one could find clippings of words, I prefer making my own. There are very limited color options and no options to add a stroke or background to the text to make it more legible. To get around this, you can find something to put behind the text, but it’s extra steps for what could be handled in the editor.
Accessibility is vital to anything to allow a broader range of folks to use anything. I cannot state how important it is to art especially. This app is relatively easy to use and very generous with its freedom and range. A lot more people could enjoy it if it had easier to read text options.
Additionally, I have noticed quite a few generative AI images within the app’s collections. I wish there was a way to signify those to avoid them, as they are, very simply, theft. A lot of the images on the app are already public domain or fall under fair use, but genAI is not guaranteed to be manufactured from either of those pools.

Amazing app, glitchy sometimes
I highly highly recommend this app. It’s very simple to use and completely free. There are literally no adds and there are infinite possibilities for what you can create. I downloaded this app because I wanted to get into collaging, and this is an easy way to do so. The only issue I have is that sometimes, for no reason, the app glitches and I can only see half of the screen. I’d say it happens about half the time I open the app, but I just wait a couple minutes and when I click back on the app it works, so DO NOT LET THIS GLITCH DISCOURAGE YOU FROM GETTING THE APP. That’s all.

LOVE! So much fun
I just downloaded and I already understand how to post, make, and edit. This app it’s easy to understand and has so many cool features I’m continuing to discover. If you are creative you will have so much fun and make very artistic projects. And even if you have never been creative a day in your life this app makes you look like a pro :) there are a few things that could use improvement but I think this app deserves to go viral considering how much detail and work that went into it!!

Such a great app for creativity! A great way to combine social media with a creative outlet to express and discover yourself. The community is so lovely and encouraging! I am so obsessed with this app and it’s way better than mindless scrolling on other social media platforms where it feels unproductive and a waste of time! <3

Crashes…
On my laptop, LOVE this. Decent library of images, search function is a little funny (if i type “protein bar”, images of alcohol might show up). Not all functions available on mobile, erase background being a highly coveted one. It’s okay even with these issues.
Sadly, there is no auto save feature, and not even a manual save feature. I presume because I add many photos, the app crashes and erases any existence of the board i’ve been working on… for over an hour. Very VERY annoying.
I recommend the desktop version highly! App is missing the mark.

glitter instead of likes, supportive comments instead of social conscious analytics… this app is doing everything right to make social media fun again! constant updates and a development team who listens to what their creators actually want - this is a social media dream!

The backward button.
Excuse me, the people of the landing. I am facing immense difficulties with placing an image in the background of the collage. When sending the picture to the back of the collage, I have to click the backwards button multiple times to get the image I want to go to the back of the entire collage. Please people of The Landing, please put a button that allows users to directly send the image we want in the background without clicking the backwards button repeatedly. The complete backwards button seems to be there on the online version of the Landing but does not seem to be there on iOS app. Please look into this.

Best app ever
I love this app so much. From what I can tell it is totally free it is a really fun way to spend time. It’s super easy to work with and I just love making pictures. It has a lot of photos too that you can chose from and you can also upload your own photos. I just really love this app and I highly recommend it.

growing community with a lot of potential!!
i’m a physical collage artist who has been looking to experiment with digital collage recently. this app found me at the perfect time! one of the things i was struggling with was collecting enough high quality PNGs, assets, etc. to use. landing has their own in-app asset library, which users are able to add to. i love the collaborative aspect and have already added some postcard scans i’ve made. polyvore shutting down left a hole in the app market. i was a die-hard pv user and…….landing is better????? there’s no shopping aspect, just collaborative creativity which is perfect for me!! the community is still on the small side but it is growing and everyone is so nice.
the groups feature is great, the one thing i’ve noticed that could be better involves the chat section in groups. when people send links to their boards in the group chats, they open in a web browser page, not in the app. this makes it harder to like and repost their boards and takes your users off the app! if those links could be configured to open in the app that would be perfect. the dev team seems to be super active on the app which is very reassuring as a user!

Lack of Diversity in Images Provided
I’m writing this in the hopes that the developers will see and take action. The app itself is good. It’s fun to use. However, when clicking through the free media provided there is such a painful lack of diversity I had to delete. The category for “downtown girl” exclusively featured photos of skinny, white girls. It’s 2023. You gotta do better than that. Broaden the sources you’re using and add images that represent a broader cross section of users. Even as a white woman I noticed, and was uncomfortable. I can’t imagine how a POC would feel.

Very Limited
I never leave reviews but this is really bugging me.. the concept of the app is cool, and since the amnt of people on it isn’t HUGE a lot of the content is quality.. but a collage app where you cannot CROP or ERASE elements from photos is so limited and frustrating simply because it makes the entire process a lot more difficult… praying those features get added bc atm the app cannot stand alone by itself for its intended purpose

My favorite app!
This is my absolute favorite app, and I very much encourage you to download it. In my opinion, there aren’t any downsides. I love there are so many photos and clipart pieces you can choose from. I love making collages and boards.

crashes every time
I had spent 2 hours working on my first collage when the app crashed. I was hoping it would have a “pick up where you left off?” option (like photoshop does when you leave the app mid-project) but when I reopened it everything I had worked on was completely gone. So I decided to try and REMAKE what I had lost because I had spent so long on it and really was enjoying how it was turning out. Got about 30 minutes in and the app started lagging like crazy and crashed again. I have yet to be able to actually finish a single thing. I think a search/image history would be very helpful, not only for when it crashes, but also because when you look up the same thing twice, you don’t always get the same search results. I think this app has huge potential, but I’m disappointed with my experience so far :/

Great app, could use a few features
I love this app so far. It gets me so inspired and the fact that everything is COMPLETELY FREE is AMAZING. It’s rare to find an app that has this many features and is really totally free. There are no paywalls or extra features you have to pay for. One thing I don’t like about this app is that you can’t change it dark mode. Most of my apps are in dark mode because I don’t like white screens. I also wish the mobile app and website were built more similarly. When I go back and forth, I have to remember what features are where on each platform. Otherwise this app/website is fantastic and I highly recommend downloading
