Language Byte 4.1 is our biggest update yet: Language Byte is now a full Apple Watch + iPhone language learning experience. This release adds an iPhone companion app for deeper study, practice sessions, private on-device AI, games, translation, grammar, conversation practice, and progress insights. What's new: - Full iPhone companion app Study with a larger word card, translations, category tags, mastery status, favorites, example sentences, auto-advance, word history, and complete language selection. The app is organized into Study, Practice, Search, Reference, Progress, and Settings. - Private on-device AI for Premium learners Language Byte now supports AI tools that run directly on compatible iPhones after a one-time model download. Practice conversations, use Voice Chat, replay conversations, generate example sentences, get cultural notes, explore word relationships, create study plans, write journal entries, generate flashcards, run adaptive quizzes, practice grammar, build sentences, complete dialogues, and play Story Mode. AI features are designed for privacy: your prompts and learning data stay on your device. - New Practice and Game Arena Practice with Quick Drill, Timed, Active Recall typing, Listening, Review Mistakes, Spaced Review, and Pronunciation Practice. Game Arena turns your vocabulary into Timed Blitz, Word Match Arena, Memory Match, Word Search, Word Guess, Conjugation Trainer, Boss Battle, Daily Quests, Leagues, and game records. - Better search and translation Search now includes fast lookup, fuzzy "did you mean" suggestions, recent lookups, favorites, and translation tools. On iPhone, use Apple Translate on-device, Google Translate when selected, voice translation, and Scan & Translate for camera-based text recognition. Local vocabulary search still works offline. - Expanded vocabulary and language support Language Byte supports 24 languages, including Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Thai, Arabic, Hindi, Russian, Turkish, Dutch, Swedish, Polish, Vietnamese, Greek, Hebrew, Ukrainian, and Swahili. Vocabulary has been expanded across language pairs with richer decks and game support across Latin, Cyrillic, and Greek scripts. - Smarter progress, streaks, and mastery Track XP, levels, CEFR proficiency, daily goals, streaks, freeze tokens, word mastery, reviews due, recent activity, accuracy, game records, weekly review, achievements, and analytics. Spaced repetition tracks each word through New, Learning, Familiar, Proficient, and Mastered states. - iCloud sync between Watch and iPhone Learning progress, favorites, selected languages, streaks, and study activity now sync more smoothly across devices using improved batched iCloud updates. - Widgets, complications, Siri, and shortcuts Add iPhone Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets for Word of the Day, Daily Dashboard, Reviews Due, and Streak & Goal. Apple Watch complications surface Word of the Day, XP progress, review count, and daily goal progress. Siri and Shortcuts support Start Studying, Quiz Me, Review My Words, and Word of the Day. - More accessible and customizable This update adds High Contrast mode, Color-Blind Friendly mode with shape-based mastery indicators, improved VoiceOver labels, Dynamic Type support, reduced motion handling, display language settings, voice customization, speech rate controls, reminders, CSV export, and clearer in-app help. - Faster and more reliable We improved launch, language loading, search indexing, fuzzy matching, favorites lookup, category filtering, progress saving, memory management, widget refreshes, complication updates, notifications, and production logging.
