Fun but Buggy

Really fun game and nice flash card vocab learning but have had several crashes after going to shops the next screen is just black. Luckily the app lets you close and then continue the run right where you left off. Also seems like some cards do not work as intended. For example, Precision Poise does not add damage to daggers and I like a dummy added 3 of those cards to my deck. Also intents of enemies can be very confusing like the mirror enemies. If this game gets polished more and the cards all work as intended, it would be 5/5

Great game

I love that this game is free with no in app purchases. It’s a copy of slay the spire, but the point is language learning more than playing a game. It’s a great tool if you’re learning a language. I play this game when my brain is too tired for traditional studying. And it’s surprisingly polished for a small developer. I haven’t experienced any bugs so far!

Overall, great execution

This is a very unique game that combines a StS like card battler with language learning. Very interesting idea and it’s very well executed. Plays very similar to StS with the addition is some cards, rooms and between rounds giving you the opportunity for o power up by completing quick language exercises. Some are as easy as choosing the, in my case Spanish, version of a word from a list while others are a little longer like unscrambling sentences. The gameplay is smooth and balanced. The only thing I’d like to see would be increasingly harder lessons. For example, I’m pretty good with counting so when I get a number correct it should move to something a bit harder like larger or more complex number. The best part is it’s free. No monetization at all. So you should definitely give it a try.

Unique language game

If you want to learn or strengthen a foreign language while also playing Slay the Spire, this game is for you. There are bonuses/penalties for answering questions in combat, language lessons, and language progress tracking. The game itself is cool, the learning a language part of it really feels like the icing on top rather than something forced into the game clumsily.
