About
Laser Mark Simulator is a calibration aid for fiber laser color marking on stainless steel and titanium. It does not predict color — it computes the physics you can compute, narrows the search space, and keeps a record of what you actually observed.
WHAT IT COMPUTES
• Fluence F, spot overlap OL_x / OL_y, pulse count N and cumulative dose energy
• Regime classification: oxidation, melting or ablation, from the fluence you set
• MOPA and Q-switched behavior modeled separately — on Q-switched sources pulse width is derived from frequency, not entered
• Effective average power capped by the rated frequency curve, so you see the drop below rating instead of discovering it on the part
BEFORE YOU BURN A SPECIMEN
• Small-character feasibility: stroke width against spot diameter and hatch lines per stroke, with a verdict and the reason behind it
• Character heat distribution rendered from real glyph outlines and scanlines — relative energy, clearly labeled as such
• Galvo delay starting values and an adjustment direction, not a claimed optimum
• Throughput and heat build-up per part, with a recommended cycle interval
CALIBRATION LOOP
• Generate a primary test matrix over frequency and speed, with randomized marking order so heat accumulation shows up instead of hiding in a gradient
• Record each cell with a 12-color label and a uniformity rating; only the index is marked on the specimen, parameters come from the CSV
• Promote a promising cell into a secondary matrix at three power levels
• Optional camera capture with an 18% gray patch for white balance, giving CIE Lab values and CIEDE2000 deltas against a reference cell
RECIPES
• Save a validated cell as a recipe; promotion to validated requires reproduction across two different material lots
• Export EzCad pen parameters and matrix CSV
• Convert a recipe to another lens focal length, with the metrics preserved and revalidation flagged
• Changing a machine's source type invalidates its recipes rather than silently reinterpreting them
SAFETY
This app assists calibration. It provides no unattended-operation feature. Class 4 shielding, 1064 nm eyewear and fume extraction remain your responsibility, and every parameter must be verified by an actual test before production use.
The calculation engine is free with no restrictions and carries no advertising. A one-time Pro purchase unlocks unlimited test matrices with EzCad export, cell photo color records and the recipe library.
