Bafflingly bad UI/UX. Excellent information provided.
The user interface and experience in this app is astonishingly bad. Lists are filtered using pop-out menus with radio buttons. Notification settings are opaque and confusing. UI elements overlap others. It’s a mess. It clearly was developed by people who don’t have a budget for real iOS developers. But I’m keeping the app for three reasons.
1.) I don’t have to sacrifice my privacy to American techbro kleptocrats and instead can support a group of scientists who prioritize information over profit.
2.) The app has no unnecessary features. There’s no gated functionality behind a paywall.
3.) The earthquake info and alerts seem to be timely and relevant/helpful.
Support science over big tech.

Unusable after the new UI update
Absolutely horrible new UI, makes it completely unusable. Can’t get relevant data or updated lists of earthquakes near me. Cant click on the map to view the earthquake. Can’t even keep track of the earthquake that just happened where I am. Used to be an amazing app but it was fully ruined with the update.

Ruined a good thing
Needed this app for relevant info. Broke a great app with whatever changes made. Map doesn’t stretch out for closer look. Graphics and texts are impossible to make out. Sorry. Must delete

i’m not receiving any notifications for any earthquakes, whether it’s near me or on the other side of the globe. this issue appears on other people using other devices as well.

Ignoring Sleep Moxe
Recent update breaks through sleep mode and shouts the earthquake information even when not allowed from the mode itself such as sleep mode. It does this by using a dodgy workaround to notifications as this action is denied in iOS wide settings. It is not a spoken alert as recognised by iOS which can be controlled by modes. This is the app waking itself and playing a sound that appears to be a notification but it’s not really. It’s a really insidious abuse of user trust and almost an instant delete in my view. Either get permission to use critical alerts from Apple or rely on users to turn this on manually. Terrible implementation.

Working well now
Useful app. Previous issue with notifications was fixed and now back to being informative and customizable.
Last update was terrible
Last update must have been done by children. It was fine as it was, why do you feel the need to change something that works fine. Put it back like it was and you get a 5 star. As it is now, 1 star.

Schade, hat man mal ne gute App, kommt irgendwann der Tag, an dem Leute meinen, etwas sehr gutes mit 5 Sternen mit ach und Krach zu 1 Stern zu degradieren. Ich brauche keine Anzeigen meiner gespeicherten Beben, wenn es ein Krampf ist aktuelle zu suchen.
Vorher war alles auf einen Blick da, jetzt sieht man das, was man nicht gespeichert hat?! Welch Logik ….

Indispensable!
I spend 6 months in Chile. Earthquakes are common. This application has taught me when to worry about a quake and when is normal. The damage and danger of the earthquake depends on the depth. If you are interested in keeping track of earthquakes around the world this is a great application.
