About
A real lathe in your pocket: chuck the stock, feed the cutter and turn the part to the drawing. Tolerance ±0.05 or it goes to scrap.
Lathe Master is a metal turning simulator where everything comes down to how carefully you work. The stock spins in the chuck, you feed the cutter in and take metal off layer by layer, matching the live profile to the dashed outline from the drawing. Two numbers sit at the bottom: the deviation you have now and the deviation still allowed. Hit the tolerance and the part goes on your workshop shelf. Miss it and you have scrap and another go.
HOW IT WORKS
The carriage travels along the stock and the cutter feeds in across it. Two pairs of buttons give coarse and fine feed: coarse takes the bulk off, fine walks the diameter down to hundredths.
A side scale with a red limit and a green one shows where you can still cut and where scrap begins.
The top of the screen tracks the pass, and there is a pause if you need to come back to a part later.
Cut too deep and that is that. Metal does not grow back, the same as in a real workshop.
STARS AND DEVIATION
Every finished part earns one, two or three stars, with the exact deviation recorded beside it to four decimal places. My workshop shows the whole run: how many parts of 34 are done, which took three stars, which took two, and the deviation each one came out with. It reads like a quality log rather than a score.
SEVEN CUTTERS
Standard is instant on wood. Roughing clears half the material on aluminium. Finishing is instant on aluminium. HSS high-speed is built for brass. The Brass cutter goes straight through steel. Carbide and Diamond are instant on any metal and cost 1100 and 1800 coins in the Store. Matching the cutter to the material buys you time on a tight tolerance.
34 PARTS ACROSS CHAPTERS
Parts are grouped into chapters and get harder as you go: First Cut, Step, Two Steps, Bobbin, Cone, Goblet, Nut Stock and on from there. It opens with a simple pass in wood, moves to steps and cones, then to thin necks in steel with the tolerance closed right down. Every part carries its own name and its own drawing.
DAILY ORDER AND DAILY BONUS
An order lands in the workshop every day: a named part, a set material, a time limit and a tolerance tighter than the ordinary level. A step in wood in 38 seconds to ±0.063, for instance. Finish it and the coins double. A bonus waits once a day too, and you can switch on a reminder or turn it down: with it on, the app writes no more than once a day.
FROM APPRENTICE TO MASTER
Stars from clean parts push your grade up, and the profile shows how far along the trade you are. Badges unlock for milestones such as conquering aluminium, and they pay coins as well. Ranking puts your precision next to everyone else's.
WHAT TURNING ACTUALLY IS
Turning is the operation where the workpiece spins and a cutter takes a layer off it to set the diameter. Shafts, bushes, nuts and adapters are all made this way. The game keeps that logic: rough it out first, finishing pass second, and only then does the size agree with the drawing.
TIPS FOR YOUR FIRST SHIFT
Take the bulk off with coarse feed and switch to fine for the last hundredths.
Match the cutter to the material: a Standard cutter on steel only burns your clock.
Watch the two numbers, not the shape. They are the only judge in here.
On a daily order watch the seconds, but do not rush the finishing pass, because that is where tolerance goes missing.
WHO IT IS FOR
For anyone curious about how a round billet becomes a finished part. For students learning the trade who have only seen a lathe in a textbook. For people who stood at a machine years ago and want the feel of it back. And for a quiet evening when you fancy making something with your hands, and they are holding a phone.
DETAILS
Works offline, no ads, in English and Ukrainian. One part runs from half a minute to a few, so it fits short sittings.
Chuck your first piece of stock and turn a part.
