• Understand what they say back — the biggest gap in every phrasebook, now filled. 137 new cards are the lines said TO you: the clerk calling "Numurs 42, trešais lodziņš", the cashier asking "Kā jūs maksāsiet, ar karti vai skaidrā naudā?", the card machine's "Karte tika noraidīta", the landlord's "Dzīvoklis jau ir aizņemts", the tram announcing "Nākamā pietura – Centrāltirgus", and — the gap that stranded everyone — the ANSWER when you ask the way: "Ejiet taisni līdz luksoforam, tad pa kreisi", "Tas ir ielas otrā pusē", "Es arī neesmu vietējais". You are never asked to produce them — they stay in listening and meaning exercises, because recognising them is the whole point. • Right for women too — Latvian endings agree with the speaker, so a man says "Es esmu noguris" and a woman "Es esmu nogurusi". Until now the app only taught the masculine form. 44 cards now show the feminine form as well, with its own audio, including the forms you need when you are speaking TO a woman ("Vai tu esi bijusi Latvijā?"). • Whole conversations, not just the opening line — twelve everyday scenes were too thin to survive a reply. City & Admin, Renting, Bank & Post, Phone & Internet, Emergencies, Kindergarten, the doctor, the supermarket, the restaurant and more now run 23-28 cards each, covering the follow-up, the awkward case where something is wrong, and the polite close. • Four scenes purely for the pleasure of it, earned as you climb: Sayings & Idioms (Rīts gudrāks par vakaru, Turēšu īkšķus!), Tongue Twisters (Šis šaursliežu dzelzceļš), Real Talk — how Latvians actually speak (Aiziet!, Ej nu!, Pag, es tūlīt!) — and Kids & Play, the warm phrases you say to a small child. • Three grammar lessons that were missing — the app used the jā- must-form on 16 cards without ever explaining why it is "Man jāiet" and not "Es jāiet". Now there is a lesson for it, one for the genitive (the case the app taught around but never taught), and one for verb prefixes, which is why sūtīt and pasūtīt are different words. 30 lessons in all, each with spoken examples and its own drill. • A new scene for reading, not just speaking — Signs & Notices teaches the written Latvian you meet every day: Darba laiks, Pusdienu pārtraukums, Slēgts remonta dēļ, Nepiederošām personām ieeja aizliegta, Labāk izlietot līdz, plus the stock phrases on an official letter. • A ladder that lasts — rewards used to run out in the first week. Levels now get steadier as you climb and unlocks arrive all the way to level 25, so there is always a next thing. Nothing you already unlocked is ever taken away, and nobody loses a level. • The deck now holds 1423 cards across 47 scenes, with 707 words carrying two examples and 30 grammar lessons.
