About

LayoutQ turns your numbers into decisions at the lane. Drilling layouts: Enter your PAP, ball speed, rev rate, and axis tilt and rotation. For any ball in the catalog, the app recommends a Dual Angle Layout, shown as drilling angle, pin-to-PAP, and pin buffer angle (VAL), with the reasoning behind each number. Adjust for an earlier or later break, a smoother or sharper shape, and more or less flare. Take the numbers to your pro shop. Your arsenal: Keep every ball you own with its drilled layout and current surface. See which of the six arsenal slots you cover and which you are missing. Track games since the last cleaning, resurface, and oil extraction, and get told when a pad is due. Set a ball to its factory finish with one tap. Link your pro shop: claim the record your shop made for you with a code, and every ball they drill lands in your arsenal with its layout. Ball catalog and recommendations: Browse more than 1,200 balls released since 2018 with core, coverstock, RG, differential, and factory surface. Get recommendations that fill the gaps in your bag, each with a suggested layout and starting surface. Live sessions: Pick a house shot or a Kegel sport pattern, log shots as you bowl, and get feet-and-target moves, ball-change suggestions, and surface advice as the lane transitions. Score games frame by frame. A fatigue flag watches your ball speed across games. Tracking: Mount your phone on a tripod, calibrate the lane with four taps, and record a shot to see the ball's real path in 3D. Optional knee-angle tracking watches your slide leg during a session. All camera processing happens on your phone; no video is uploaded. Privacy: No ads, no analytics, no tracking. Your data lives in your account, and you can delete it from the app at any time. Storm, VLS, Kegel, and USBC are trademarks of their owners. LayoutQ is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them, or by any ball manufacturer. Recommendations are informational; confirm layouts with a qualified pro shop before drilling.

What's New in LayoutQ

1.1

September 22, 2026

Carried over from the unreleased 1.0.1: The drilling screen draws the shop's construction with your grip on it; angles read in whole degrees instead of one decimal Layout explorer angle buttons step a degree at a time A Storm VLS layout survives whole-degree rounding and reads back as the same eighths One house shot everywhere, the pattern's ratio on the profile, and the visualizer draws your own conditions ---------------- New in 1.1.0: Stock links — a shop's product page and price on a catalog ball, for bowlers linked to that shop, plus a store reader that turns a WooCommerce shop's listings into links (https-only, staff-confirmed once) Sharing switches — four of them: numbers, bag, sessions, shopping Suggestions — a shop proposes numbers, you accept or dismiss; staff never write your profile Arsenal-slot filter in both Catalog and For You Referrals on the shop side — tagged links, click records, sold rows, a prefilled drill sheet Shop sessions in third person, one per bowler; the fit drawing scales to a phone Pin-to-PAP whole-inch box takes digits only EAS Update on the production channel, so later fixes can ship over the air
