The simplicity of this app is probably my favorite thing. No calibration required, just turn it on and go. Interface was intuitive without over explaining. Gorgeous and highly reactive visuals.
I know it’s not really a feature, but I sneezed near it once and it was fun to watch the analyzers max out. 😝

The visualizer I didn’t know I needed
I’ve never had an audio visualizer and to be honest I didn’t know I needed one until I got this. If you’re looking for the best app to visualize sound, you’ve found it with the LaZ Visual Audio Equalizer.

Makes music fun to watch again!
LaZ Visual Audio Equalizer is one of those rare apps that does exactly what it promises while also being far more entertaining than you expect. You simply place your iPhone near the music, and the app transforms the sound in the room into responsive spectrum bars, bouncing VU needles, colorful lights, and other live visual effects.
The variety is excellent. You can move between classic green-to-red equalizer bars, blue and purple displays, analog-style VU meters, VOX lights, custom colors, and a wonderfully nostalgic 1995-style car stereo. The retro stereo display is especially impressive, with working controls, multiple visualizers, presets, an animated startup sequence, and some fun surprises to discover.
There is also a surprising amount of customization. Sensitivity, movement, colors, VU behavior, larger spectrum blocks, and even a Jeep Mode for reducing interference from wind and road noise can all be adjusted. It works especially well beside a home stereo, record player, Bluetooth speaker, at a party, or anywhere else music is playing aloud.
What I appreciate most is how refreshingly straightforward it is. There is no account to create, no subscription, no recurring charge, and no tracking. The microphone audio is processed locally on the phone and is never recorded, saved, or uploaded. In an App Store filled with unnecessary subscriptions and data collection, that alone deserves recognition.
LaZ combines retro audio nostalgia with a clean modern iPhone experience. It is visually impressive, easy to use, thoughtfully designed, and genuinely fun. If you remember the glowing equalizers and bouncing meters on stereos from the 1980s and 1990s—or simply want to make today’s music more visually engaging—this app is absolutely worth downloading.

Nostalgia on Tap
This really brings me back to listening to vinyl on my father’s stereo system in the 70s and 80s, the warm tones of analog and the glow of the meters. Exceptionally well done, simple, intuitive. A masterclass in apps that JUST. WORK. Thank you.
A visual party!
This app has turned my phone from dull to dancing, the visuals are so fun and give the sounds around mea visual pick me up. Love it, does exactly what it says it does.
