Your shelf, standing up. A SHELF OF YOUR OWN Photograph the spine of each book and Leafi stands them side by side, like a real bookcase. The shelf starts empty and you decide what goes on it — then drag them into whatever order you like. COVERS FROM THE CAMERA Photograph a book and frame the cover yourself. Or scan it: take the photo, drag the four corners onto the corners of the book, and Leafi straightens it out. Pinch to zoom in if you shot it from across the room. LET IT FILL ITSELF IN Type a title or an author and Leafi looks it up in Google Books and Open Library, then fills in what it finds — author, publisher, ISBN, synopsis and cover. Everything it brings is yours to correct before you save. SCAN THE ISBN Point the camera at the barcode on the back cover. It is the surest way to land on one exact edition: the one sitting on your shelf, and not the one from another country. ALSO NEW An edition type for each item — standard, hardcover, paperback, collector's, special, box set or alternate. Books, Shelf and Settings now have a tab each, and become a sidebar on iPad. A quiet warning when there is no connection, so a search that goes nowhere says why. A note on privacy: searching online is the only time Leafi talks to anyone but your own iCloud, and it sends only what you are looking for — never anything about you, and never anything already in your collection. The privacy policy has been updated to spell that out.
