Too expensive for very little

This is basically a very basic travel phrase book with a few games incorporated Into the app! Waste of money.

Are u for real

With such a limited bank of materials, i reckon one gets no where beyond pre-beginner level in this language. Not worth it

Not worth the price

I am a beginner speaker of Cantonese and found that this was not worth the price. It is not comprehensive at all.

Excellent

Good app. Crisp audio and visual. Vocabulary is limited to the most basic. Wish there were more, especially in the food section. Geared towered travellers rather than someone who wants to learn in depth.

Needs more words

Not enough content for the price. English spelling of words do not have tone markers and words are not spelled in pinyin style.

In theory it's a nice app

Great app for learning Cantonese.
Downfall, crashes after every use so you can't learn cantonese..

Love it!

Have practiced every day and it's so helpful with the games and pics to keep you motivated! Regally would love another, more advanced one now, as I am getting near the end of this one! Please please!

The Best Ever

Greath to increase your vocab!

After grabbing myself an audiotape from the internet i was learning 4-5 new words a day but with this app I'm learning a lot more and I can see the words. Relating the pictures to words I can now visualise while I do my tape. So far this looks like the best vocab app for Cantonese.

Best Cantonese App

I'm in Hong Kong right now, and was in need of a Cantonese app. I was a bit wary of this app on account of the price and the fact that it didn't have enough reviews; however, I'm pretty glad I downloaded it. It could use more (and applicable) phrases, but otherwise I consider it to be the best. It's more of a learning app, though, than a travel app. The sound is also clear, but I wish it were pronounced more slowly and had male and female versions for all audios. Nonetheless, still the best.

Perfect

This app is exactly what I've been looking for in a Cantonese language learning app! Very engaging. It's intelligent but simple. The words are connected to the imagery. This is definitely worth the price. Reminds me of Rosetta stone *gasp! :o

Great!

Great for beginners and fun way to learn and memorize words. Male and female vocal versions to pronounce each word. Interactive and enjoyable even for little children such as my 4 yr old she picked up and memorized majority of the food category in less than 30 minutes. A bit pricey having only 9 categories but I can understand how that price is being justified. It's a quality app with good graphics, good sound and fun fast way to learn. Highly recommend! Especially if you knew that you could be speaking basic Cantonese in less than 2 hours. Only wished now there is a more advanced level.

Highly recommend

I am a british born chinese woman who has had trouble motivating her ten year old daughter to learn Cantonese. No longer! My daughter loves this app. I have no trouble getting her to use it. She loves the challenge of the games. The whole interface is very appealing. And the vocabulary are everyday words which I am sure she will use with her grandparents.

Fun way to learn

It's a bit expensive but as a beginner I found it to be very helpful and fun to use.

Simple and Fantastic

Simple and fantastic way to learn the basics. I hope tehy do an Advanced Cantonese onw.

ABC having a blast

I'm an ABC who never learned Chinese past a first grade level. When I got married, my wife didn't understand Chinese enough to interact with some of my family, so I got this app for both of us. It isn't a complete course, but it has a great interface to help learn some basic vocabulary. There are 9 categories of words, from first words to numbers, times, body parts, countries, foods, phrases, shopping, and colors. Would love to have additional sections for places/types of buildings, pronouns, animals, prepositions, etc.

Review games are great for drilling, both with adults and with children. Would recommend for adults trying to learn or on travel and for parents who are looking to teach their children basic vocabulary.

No worth $14.99. Light weight, very basic only.

It was a mistake to buy this. Only 9 sections on food, body, world, etc. Not much to learn. This program is like a book with 9 chapters and 2 or. 3 ,to be fair, up to 4 pages in each chapter. Unless you are a foreigner with
$15 to throw around, my advice is don't buy.
