I’ve tried other apps that can download because my iPad is really old what does apps perfect and let me use it works well and it doesn’t kick me out really well-made and I don’t need any subscriptions on it and my favorite Youtubers actually sponsored the main app!(dumb Doggo)!

wouldn't let me use it after subscribing, wasting my money.
I paid for monthly use, it wouldn't allow me to use it. When I clicked on it to "subscribe" it told me i've already subscribed, yet it still wouldn't allow me to use it. £10 i paid nearly a week ago and I haven't been able to use it. There's no excuse to not allow me to use it after subscribing. I can't get a refund or in contact with whoever is in charge, don't waste your money on this app, it'll just steal your money, you wont be able to access anything and they'll keep your money.

There are much better apps for German.
If your a beginner this is not where I would start. I did the free trial because some web sites gave it great reviews. Now I believe it’s because Mondly paid for those reviews. Mondly is more like a glorified phrase book and not a good one at that. I’ve been using Duolingo along with Busuu for a year and these two apps compliment each other very well. Duolingo is better at sentence structure and word order and Busuu I’d better for the grammar to understand the above plus pronunciation. Busuu lessons are also corrected by native speakers. The problems I found with Mondly is it’s riddled with errors. The German voice doesn’t always match the text. Some of the translations given are inaccurate. The app expects you to tell the difference between a lowercase L (l ) and a capital I. Guess wrong and it counts against you. I didn’t find that the lesson built on each other but were rather random. There is no grammar given so it’s up to you figure out why articles and verbs change. Good luck with that. Chat bot was interesting. Have a conversation with a bot as long as you use one of the responses given for you to use. Make up your own and the bot doesn’t understand and won’t continue unless you use a response from the list. If your familiar with the language it’s a good review app but be prepared for some unusual translations, but you may get frustrated with all the errors in the app.

OK but not great
Mondly German is a basic program which aims to give a basic grounding in the language. I have been learning German intensively for about 9 months and have reached the top of CFER A1.1 using another program and other materials. I have just completed a 7 day free trial on Mondly in order to have a look at the subscription features. Mondly is OK but I wouldn’t recommend it. Some of the language and translations given are sloppy and some downright wrong. However, if you are a visual learner Mondly might be good. As with many of these mobile programs there is no teaching - the learner is just pitched in and has to figure it out for themselves. The structure of the language doesn’t come through. All-in-all - other programs are better value for money.

Terrible billing system
The Mondly App itself is a good language learning system. However, when you’re ready to cancel, it’s almost impossible to find how to do that on the app. And you will get automatically billed even if you don’t authorize it. I really dislike their Verifone billing system.

Only for absolute beginners
This app is very polished in terms of interface and graphics, but very poor in terms of content. Even when you choose an “Advanced” level it starts your lessons with words like “flower” and “garden”. Also, the idiosyncrasies of the various languages are not captured, for example, the importance of the articles in German.
