uTalk Irish

Seems I downloaded the free section for $9.99, but now have the opportunity to add several more sections - for several more dollars of course.
Not very likely with what I've seen so far.

I Like it.

I like this app a lot. I like that it doesn't just give you the picture and the word, but Pronounces the word as well. For me this really helps.

Utalk Irish

It was a great app till I upgraded it, now it doesn't have sound regardless of my re installation, turning the iPad off then on again

CD

This is nothing more than a short vocabulary list with pronunciation help. Very disappointing.

Just so you know...

I've searched over the years for a way to learn to speak "English-Irish"... a way to speak Irish phrases with an Irish accent while speaking English, just for fun. This language program is probably great for learning real Irish, but it did not turn out to be what I was looking for... I'll be in Ireland in a few months and I will find out first hand if they still actually speak like this... but I still don't plan to learn it!

Worth £4.99

Very good aid for practicing Irish. A small error here and there but very a useful, well-designed app otherwise. It's good to be able to compare your own pronunciation with the built-in microphone option. Maith thú!

Great app

Great app. Works like Rosetta stone but much more affordable. I hope future updates include expanding the vocabulary

Great app

This is a good and fun app for learning Irish, my only complaint is that some of the words are incorrect. For instance, the Irish hello is dia duit not what this app says it is. But despite that, it is a handy aid to the learning process.

Brilliant

Their games make you learn quickly.

Talking Irish

This is a good basic language program, giving the Irish spelling as well as the expected oral pronounciation. There is a male and female speaking each word or phrase. The catagories are set up well. The quizzes are good too. The only thing I would wish to improve it would be if the speakers were to slow down, to break up the phrase so you could learn it more easily, then speaking it normally. Irish is an unusual language. It's a bit fast for me..oh well, I guess if I hear it enough times it will sink in.

Effective learning tool

Like Rosetta stone, although in hind sight i'm wondering when I'll ever need to say "where is my luggage" in Gaelic.

Fine

This app is good, but they need 2 have more than 2 people saying the word.

Great Graphics - Could Use More content

This app has the best graphics, design and techniques but with only 275 words/phrases it is a bit thin on content for what you pay. Byki is a better buy for the same price.

Wonderful!

Works like Rosetta Stone. You see the word, hear it, see pictures. Great program. Bravo!
