Amazing app with some exceptions

This is a GREAT app! It’s very easy n fun, except as u try to go further into the lessons ur stopped cuz u have to pay. 95% of this app is behind a paywall which is very sad cuz of its fun to learn ability. Perhaps u guys could do a watch ad to get to the next lesson or watch a set of ads to get full day free premium.

Response from developer

We're sorry for the frustration. HeyJapan offers some free content, but premium does unlock more advanced learning opportunities. Your idea about ads is interesting! We're a small team, and subscriptions help us keep improving. If you have more feedback, feel free to reach out at heyjapan@eupgroup.net.

Very limited content

The app offers you about 6 lessons. After that, you can't use any app feature without paying for the premium subscription. Although the app has more depth in content than Duolingo, it is not polished enough and the premium is expensive for what it offers.

We understand your frustration. HeyJapan provides free content like hiragana, katakana, and beginner lessons, while premium unlocks more in-depth material, including JLPT content.

Response from developer

이해합니다. 현재 무료로 이용할 수 있는 콘텐츠도 있지만, 프리미엄은 JLPT 수준의 콘텐츠와 광고 없는 학습을 제공합니다. 저희는 소규모 팀으로 운영되고 있으며, 구독료는 개발을 지속하기 위해 필요합니다. 더 궁금한 점이 있으면 언제든지 heyjapan@eupgroup.net으로 연락해 주세요.
